***Evangeline Lilly Cast As An Elf In The Hobbit ***7 Clips and a Featurette from LARRY CROWNE ***Anton Corbijn to Direct Adaptation of John Le Carré’s A MOST WANTED MAN

7 Clips and a Featurette from LARRY CROWNE Starring Tom Hanks and Julie Roberts

by Steve 'Frosty' Weintraub    Posted: June 19th, 2011

Universal has sent over 7 clips and a featurette from Larry Crowne.  Directed by and starring Tom Hanks, the story centers on a laid-off middle-aged man (Hanks) who goes back to college and strikes up a relationship with one of his professors (Julia Roberts).  Larry Crowne is the first film Hanks has directed since 1996’s That Thing You Do, and he co-wrote the script with Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding).   While the story seems pretty simple, Hanks has proven himself behind the camera and people love the guy.  What I’m trying to say is…I’m pretty sure Larry Crowne is going to be a big hit for Universal.  Hanks and Roberts are joined in the film by Bryan Cranston, Cedric the Entertainer, Taraji P. Henson, Gugu Mbatha Raw, Wilmer Valderrama, Pam Grier, Rami Malek, George Takei, Grace Gummer, Rita Wilson, and Jon Seda.  Check out the clips after the jump.  Larry Crowne hits theaters July 1st. http://collider.com/larry-crowne-movie-clips/97456/

Anton Corbijn to Direct Adaptation of John Le Carré’s A MOST WANTED MAN

by Brendan Bettinger    Posted: June 19th, 2011

By Wikipedia’s count, seven John le Carré novels have been adapted into films.  An eighth, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, is on the way.  According to THR, director Anton Corbijn (The American) will bring us the ninth.  Corbijn has signed on to direct A Most Wanted Man from a screenplay by Andrew Bovell (Edge of Darkness).  The story centers on a Muslim illegal immigrant caught up in the international war on terror.  The novel is loosely based on Murat Kurnaz, who was imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay for several years before release without charge in 2006.
The Amusement Park Films production is expected to begin shooting this winter in Hamburg.  Read the official book synopsis after the jump. http://collider.com/anton-corbijn-a-most-wanted-man/97370/

Evangeline Lilly Cast As An Elf In The Hobbit

published: 2011-06-19 18:35:32 Author: Josh Tyler
Liv Tyler won’t be in The Hobbit. While her Arwen character is an ancient immortal and thus technically alive at the time this prequel story takes place, Tyler confirmed awhile back that she hasn’t been asked to show up on set. So if you’re looking for a new female elf character to replace the Arwen in these new Middle Earth movies, who do you cast? Evangeline Lilly, of course. She’s like Liv Tyler, except without the Aerosmith connection.

Hobbit director Peter Jackson confirmed her involvement today on his Facebook page. Lilly has been hired to play a character newly created specifically for the feature version of The Hobbit. She’ll be a Woodland Elf named “Tauriel”. That name even has a translation already, because of course that’s how back-story obsessed author J.R.R. Tolkien would have wanted it, were he the one inventing this new elf-babe. PJ says “Tauriel” means “daughter of Mirkwood”. So now you have a pretty good idea of where she lives.

The addition of Lilly is important, not only because she’ll look good in pointy ears, but because it could help solve one of the 4 big story problems we predicted Peter Jackson would encounter in adapting Tolkien’s book for the screen. If Evangeline’s role is big enough, it could help clear up problem #4, which is that the original Tolkien version of The Hobbit contains no female characters. None. In Hollywood, the general consensus seems to be that girls need someone to identify with, if you want them buying tickets.

Evangeline isn’t the only person getting in the Middle Earth makeup chair down in New Zealand. Jackson has also confirmed the casting of actor Barry Humpries, to play the Goblin king. This is a villain character encountered by Bilbo and his Dwarf companions on their journey. You won’t see a lot of him, but he does play a pivotal role in the story. Jackson says he’ll portray the character “in much the way Andy Serkis created Gollum”. In other words, you won’t actually see him on screen, but you will see a computer generated character created based on his performance.

The Hobbit Adds Evangeline Lilly and Barry Humphries
Jun 20, 2011 by Brian Gallagher
Director Peter Jackson is currently shooting The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in New Zealand, which is scheduled for release on December 14, 2012. The filmmaker took time out of his busy schedule to update his Facebook page with the news that Evangeline Lilly and Barry Humphries have joined The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey cast. Take a look at his entire Facebook post below.

Yikes! I can finally get back to some postings! We've finished our first block of shooting and moved straight into location scouting. More on that soon... But today, I'm thrilled to announce two new cast members who will be joining us for our second block of shooting.

Evangeline Lilly will be playing a new character-the Woodland Elf, Tauriel. Her name means 'daughter of Mirkwood' and, beyond that, we must leave you guessing! (No, there is no romantic connection to Legolas.) What is not a secret is how talented and compelling an actress Evangeline is; we are thrilled and excited she will be the one to bring our first true Sylvan Elf to life.

I'm also highly excited that Barry Humphries will be portraying the Goblin King, in much the way Andy Serkis created Gollum. Barry is perhaps best known for his business and social connections as the long-time manager of Dame Edna Everage. He has also been an ardent supporter of the rather misunderstood and unfairly maligned Australian politician, Sir Les Patterson. However, in his spare time, Barry is also a fine actor, and we're looking forward to seeing him invest the Goblin King with the delicate sensitivity and emotional depth this character deserves.

Evangeline and Barry, along with Welsh actor Luke Evans as Bard and Benedict Cumberbatch as Smaug, just about rounds out the major casting. I cannot wait to get stuck into these new scenes!

More soon, including a flurry of answers to your questions. Sorry for the delay!

Cheers,
Peter J"

Joel Edgerton and Luke Evans Top Contenders for Role of Tom Buchanan in THE GREAT GATSBY
by Adam Chitwood Posted: May 14th, 2011 at 9:30 pm

Director Baz Luhrmann continues to fill out the cast for his 3D adaptation of The Great Gatsby. His primary cast of Leonardo DiCaprio as Gatsby, Tobey Maguire as Nick Carraway and Carey Mulligan as Daisy is set, and he’s now turned his attention to the crucial role of Tom Buchanan. Ben Affleck was previously circling the part, but was ultimately unable to fit the film into his schedule as his next directorial effort Argo starts production in September and Gatbsy is poised to roll in August. Now it looks like Joel Edgerton (Animal Kingdom) and Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans) have emerged as frontrunners for the role. Hit the jump for more, as well as a synopsis of the book.

Director Neil Jordan and producer Stephen Woolley will reteam for the all-in-the-family vampire pic, Byzantium. Based on an original script by Moira Buffini (Jane Eyre), Byzantium is the story of a deadly pairing of a mother vampire (Arterton) who turns her daughter (Ronan). In addition to the principal cast members, Byzantium also stars Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes and Jeremy Irvine (War Horse).

Warner Bros. has provided us six new TV spots for The Hangover Part II to promote the May 26 release. This set of TV spots feature new footage not previously seen in the trailer or prior TV spots for those who want that extra taste. It will be difficult to recapture the lightning in a bottle that made the original so great, but everything we’ve seen so far is promisingly very funny.

Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galfianakis, Justin Bartha, and Ken Jeong reprise their roles for the comedy sequel directed by Todd Phillips. Watch the TV spots after the break.

Casting Call: Evans and Thomas Join Refn’s ONLY GOD FORGIVES; Hammer to Lead 2:22; Grillo Signs on to LAY THE FAVORITE

by Matt Goldberg   Posted: May 2nd, 2011

We have a few pieces of casting news to report this afternoon.  First up, Luke Evans and Kristin Scott Thomas have joined Nicolas Winding Refn’s independent drama Only God Forgives.  There’s no word yet on which roles the Evans or Thomas will play, but according to Cineuropa [via The Playlist], the plot centers “on a Thai police lieutenant whose rivalry with a gangster sees the two settling their differences in a Thai boxing match.”  International rights to the film will be sold later this month at Cannes.
Refn recently directed the Ryan Gosling thriller Drive—which will premiere at Cannes and open in the U.S. on September 16th—and he plans to shoot Only God Forgives before moving on to direct a remake of Logan’s Run which will also star Gosling.  Presumably, shooting on Only God Forgives would take place this summer and then Refn and Gosling would shoot Logan’s Run in the late fall or early winter in order to accommodate Gosling’s shooting schedule on Gangster Squad.  Hit the jump for casting news regarding Armie Hammer and Frank Grillo.

Chris Hemsworth May Join SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN

by Matt Goldberg   Posted: May 2nd, 2011

Chris Hemsworth (Thor) is about to become a movie star.  I caught Thor this past weekend and his performance is a major reason why the film works so well.  People are going to leave the theater talking about him and the job offers are about to come flooding in.  Additionally, the film has already been released overseas and is doing well at the international box office.  With all that in mind, Deadline is reporting that Hemsworth has become the frontrunner to play the huntsman in Rupert Sanders’ Snow White and the Huntsman.
The project has had some difficulty casting its lead actor after talks fell apart with Viggo Mortensen.  Universal reportedly was considering Hugh Jackman for the part, but he passed and last week we learned that rising star Joel Edgerton (Animal Kingdom) was under consideration.  Now we’ll wait to see if Hemsworth decides to join Kristen Stewart (who’s playing Snow White) and Charlize Theron (the Evil Queen).  The film is currently set for December 21, 2012.

Emily Mortimer Takes Lead Female Role in Aaron Sorkin’s New HBO Drama

by Ethan Anderton    Posted: May 2nd, 2011

Last week we learned that Marisa Tomei was close to taking the lead female role in a new series pilot for HBO from writer Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) and director Greg Mottola (Paul). However, it looks like another serious contender for the role has been locked into the pilot as Deadline reports Emily Mortimer (Shutter Island, Cars 2) has snagged the lead female role instead. Tentatively titled More as This Story Develops, the new series follows cable news anchor Will McCallister (Jeff Daniels), who has his own show, as well as the show’s female executive producer and staff. Mortimer is playing the executive producer, MacKenzie, for whom producing the news is what she does best and everything else is just noise. I’m thoroughly looking forward to seeing how this project turns out and can’t wait to see who else joins the cast.

Trailer for THE LEDGE Starring Liv Tyler and Patrick Wilson

by Jason Barr    Posted: May 2nd, 2011

The theatrical trailer for writer/director Matthew Chapman’s The Ledge has landed online. Starring Liv Tyler, Patrick Wilson, Charlie Hunnam, and Terrence Howard, the thriller screened at Sundance earlier this year and takes place as a man (Hunnam) threatens to jump from the ledge of a building. As the story goes, it becomes clear that the threat stems from a romantic and ideological dispute between Hunnam and Wilson’s characters.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer for yourself. For my part, I think the cut gives away a little too much regarding Hunnam’s purpose on the ledge. Nevertheless, the film looks to have plenty of drama and Wilson seems to be in a similarly crazy role to his turn in 2005’s Hard Candy (which I see as a plus). The Ledge is scheduled to hit theaters stateside on June 29th.

An international teaser trailer for the horror flick Intruders has gone online.  Directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later), the film stars Clive Owen as a father trying to help his 11-year-old daughter (Ella Purnell) deal with her childhood demons.  Said demons might be slightly literal.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer.  The film also stars Kerry Fox (Bright Star), Carice van Houten (Black Book), and Daniel Brühl (Inglourious Basterds).  Intruders opens October 7th.

In addition to the new images from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, Summit has also sent over some new images from Paul W.S. Anderson’s 3D adaptation of The Three Musketeers.  Yes, the trailer makes the film look abysmal, but look!  Pretty costumes!
Hit the jump to check out the images.  The film stars Logan Lerman, Milla Jovovich, Matthew Macfadyen, Ray Stevenson, Luke Evans, Mads Mikkelson, Gabriella Wilde, Juno Temple, Orlando Bloom, and Christoph Waltz.  The Three Musketeers opens October 14th.

Guy Pearce Joins Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS

by Matt Goldberg    Posted: May 2nd, 2011

This weekend, a rumor went floating around that Guy Pearce had joined the cast of Ridley Scott’s upcoming Alien-prequel-but-not-an-Alien-prequel, Prometheus.  We held off for confirmation and now the good folks over at The Playlist have made that confirmation.  There’s currently no word on what role Pearce will play, but he’s a valuable addition to any cast, and the cast for Prometheus is an embarrassment of riches: Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba all have leading roles and they’ll be joined by Logan Marshall-Green (24), Rafe Spall (Hot Fuzz), Sean Harris (Red Riding Trilogy), Kate Dickie (Red Road).
Plot details are still being kept under wraps, but the film will reportedly take place in the Alien universe, but not necessarily be a direct prequel to Scott’s original 1979 film.  Prometheus is due out in 3D on June 8, 2012.  Pearce recently co-starred in the miniseries Mildred Pierce and he’ll next be seen in theaters in the Guillermo del Toro-produced horror flick Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.

Amy Adams Offered Role in ROCK OF AGES

by Matt Goldberg    Posted: March 24th, 2011

Amy Adams is reportedly being “heavily courted” to join Adam Shankman’s upcoming musical, Rock of AgesDeadline reports that Adams is being offered the role of a journalist who plans to write a scathing expose of decaent rock star Stacee Jax (played by Tom Cruise) but ends up sleeping with him instead after they do a duet of Foreigner’s “I Want to Know What Love Is”.  The role was initially offered to Anne Hathaway, but the scheduling conflicted with her time playing Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises.
Adams previously did some fantastic singing in Enchanted and she’s set to sing again in The Muppets.  If Adams signs on to Rock of Ages, she’ll join not only Cruise, but also Mary J. Blige, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, and Julianne Hough.  Deadline reports that we should know by early next week if Adams has taken the gig.  Rock of Ages is currently set to open on June 1, 2012.

Joel Edgerton, Dominic Cooper, Garrett Hedlund, and Luke Evans Testing for Lead in THE BOURNE LEGACY

by Jason Barr    Posted: March 24th, 2011

With Universal’s The Bourne Legacy staring down the barrel of an August 3, 2012 release, the studio is finally bringing some tangible casting work to the forefront.  Per Deadline, four actors are currently scheduled to screen test for the film’s male lead at the beginning of April: Joel Edgerton (forthcoming remake of The Thing), Dominic Cooper (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy), and Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans).
While the report is quick to mention that the actor eventually cast for the role may fall outside of the four listed here (for example, both Shia LaBeouf and Taylor Kitsch are believed to be in the mix, although neither is expected to test for the role at this time), this news at least gives fans of the franchise an idea of how Universal is approaching writer/director Tony Gilroy’s spin-off installment. It is believed that the studio sees the Bourne franchise itself as being more important to the film’s overall success than a huge name lead to place at the top of its marketing materials. With this in mind, and with production set to get underway later this year, I expect this story to be the tip of the casting iceberg surrounding The Bourne Legacy.

Michael Shannon and Edgar Ramirez Vying for Villain Role in SUPERMAN Reboot?

by Adam Chitwood    Posted: March 24th, 2011

Director Zack Snyder is currently filling out his cast for the upcoming Superman reboot and, unsurprisingly, the rumor mill is heating up with names of actors in line to play the villain in the film. Henry Cavill is set as the Man of Steel himself, with Kevin Costner and Diane Lane poised to play his adoptive parents. Now, Deadline is reporting that the parties-that-be are interested in actor Michael Shannon (Boardwalk Empire) for the villain. Shannon’s a supremely talented guy, and has gained considerable (and well-deserved) recognition as of late, following his Oscar-nominated turn in Sam Mendes’ Revolutionary Road.
In addition, Latino Review reports that Edgar Ramirez (Carlos) is being eyed for the villain role as well. Exactly which villain Superman will face off against in the film is currently unknown. Now, this being a comic-book movie and all, these casting reports could very well turn out to be simply nothing more than rumor. At this point, no one’s saying for sure. But with production set to start relatively soon on the Christopher Nolan-produced flick, expect more casting announcements/rumors in the coming weeks.

Juno Temple Confirmed for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

by Jason Barr   Posted: March 24th, 2011

Last week, we reported that UK actress Juno Temple (Atonement) was in talks to join Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. As of today, those talks have officially ended as Temple has been confirmed for her role as a “street-smart Gotham girl.” While Variety fails to offer up more details regarding Temple’s character, rumors and speculation are already stacking up on the interwebs (hard to believe, right?) that Temple could be playing any Bat-character from Catwoman-sidekick Holly Robinson to current Batgirl Stephanie Brown.
Just for funsies, feel free to join me after the jump for a quick breakdown of some of Temple’s potential roles. The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters on July 20, 2012.

Luke Evans to Star in The Amateur American
Source: FilmNation Entertainment March 11, 2011

FilmNation Entertainment and Likely Story have cast Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans, Tamara Drewe) to star in the action film The Amateur American. With shooting scheduled to start in Europe in September, the film will be produced by FilmNation Entertainment's Aaron Ryder and Likely Story's Anthony Bregman. FilmNation will also be handling international sales.

Based on the novel of the same title by J. Saunders Elmore, The Amateur American is written and will be directed by DGA-WGA Winner Ross Katz (HBO Films' "Taking Chance"), who also produced In the Bedroom and Lost in Translation. The action thriller is about a young American living in Paris who accepts a job working for a shadowy employer and soon finds himself framed for murder and caught up in a deadly game of espionage, blackmail, and deceit.

FilmNation's Ryder said: "We had the pleasure of working with Luke on The Raven and his performance in it is extraordinary. He is an ideal contemporary leading man."

Likely Story's Bregman adds: "Welshman Luke Evans is in fact an amateur American, but now he is our Amateur American -- which means he will now be duped, seduced, imprisoned, shot at, chased, and nearly killed by all manner of professional Europeans. We can't wait!"

Evans recently wrapped production on The Raven alongside John Cusack, and can next be seen in Summit's The Three Musketeers with Logan Lerman and Orlando Bloom, and Tarsem Singh's Immortals alongside Henry Cavill.

FilmNation is also currently in post-production on House at the End of the Street starring Jennifer Lawrence, Max Thieriot, and Elisabeth Shue; in development on F*cking Engaged with star Jessica Biel; and Message from the King from writers Oliver Butcher and Stephen Cornwell.

Likely Story is currently in production on Stephen Frear's latest feature Lay the Favorite starring Bruce Willis, Rebecca Hall and Catherine Zeta Jones. The company is also currently in post on both Lawrence Kasdan's Darling Companion starring Diane Keaton, Kevin Kline as well as Julian Farino's comedy The Oranges which topped the blacklist in 2008.

THE RAVEN Starring John Cusack Picked up by Relativity Media

by Adam Chitwood    Posted: January 20th, 2011

Yesterday, we brought you an image from the set of the Edgar Allen Poe thriller The Raven that was tweeted by star John Cusack in remembrance of the famed poet’s birthday. Today, it was announced that the film now has a US distributor. Deadline reports that Relativity Media has acquired the US distribution rights to the film. Directed by James McTiegue (V for Vendetta), the film tells the story of Poe teaming up with a detective to search for a serial killer who has kidnapped the author’s fiancée and gone on a murder spree that recalls Poe’s stories. The events all take place in the days before the poet’s death.
Cusack stars alongside Luke Evans (Tamara Drewe), Alice Eve (She’s Out of My League) and Brendan Gleeson. Cross your fingers for more sad-face Cusack pictures from the set as filming continues.

Peter Farrelly Says Benicio del Toro Still Top Choice to Play Moe in THE THREE STOOGES

by Matt Frisch    Posted: January 20th, 2011

Although no one has officially signed on yet to the ever-rotating cast of the Farrelly brothers (There’s Something About Mary, Me, Myself & I) The Three Stooges, it looks like the directors have at least set their sights on one cast member for now, Benicio del Toro. Farrelly confirmed Del Toro’s status with the project, as well as addressed what they’re looking for in the audition process:
“Benicio [Del Toro] is the front runner for Moe, but we’ve not made a deal with him yet. Our feeling is that it just can’t be your take on Moe. It’s gotta be Moe. Someone could nail Curly’s mannerisms, but if you’re 130 pounds it probably wouldn’t work.”
Apparently one reason that casting has been held back is that certain actors feel they shouldn’t have to audition for the role given their A-lister status. Hit the jump for more information on the filming of The Three Stooges, as well as past casting rumors.
In a recent interview with The Providence Journal (via The Playlist) Peter Farrelly spoke at length about the project:
“It’s not a biopic. We want to give a matinee feel to it. But none of the studios had any interest in it at the beginning. There was a lot to prove. We even had to show that in the script, despite all the hitting the Stooges were known for, it could be a PG movie.”
The cast has been all over the place for this one.  As we previously reported, rumors ran rampant that the cast had been filled out with Johnny Knoxville as Moe, Andy Samberg as Larry and Australian comic Shane Jacobson as Curly. In the end, they turned out to be exactly that—rumors.  Prior to that casting news, the original lineup consisted of Benicio del Toro, Sean Penn and Jim Carrey set to play Moe, Larry and Curly respectively. However, Penn suddenly dropped out due to scheduling conflicts and Carrey quickly followed suit. There was even talk at one time of Paul Giamatti possibly picking up Penn’s vacant role as Larry, but as much as I like the guy, I’m not quite sure he would be the right fit for Larry.
Fair to say that at this point, everything still seems very much up in the air.  But one thing is clear, these remaining parts will be cast sometime in the very near future.  The movie is set to start shooting in Atlanta in April.

When he’s not busy punching women/screaming about bees, Nicolas Cage stars in movies. With each new Nicolas Cage movie, comes a new hairstyle. I’m sorry, did I say hairstyle? I meant awesome hairstyle.  Next up for Cage is Patrick Lussier’s (My Bloody Valentine 3D) revenge thriller Drive Angry 3D, featuring a brand-new awesome hairstyle. The film stars Cage, Amber Heard (Zombieland), David Morse (Disturbia) and William Fichtner (Black Hawk Down).
We previously brought you the first images from the film, which look decidedly bad ass. Cage stars as Milton, the tough as nails criminal who breaks out of Hell on a quest for redemption. Fichtner plays a character simply named “The Accountant”, a mysterious demonic agent sent to retrieve Milton and return him to the fiery depths from which he came.  Hit the jump to check out the full poster. Drive Angry 3D will be released on February 25th.

First Images of Zac Efron in THE LUCKY ONE

by Adam Chitwood    Posted: December 23rd, 2010

The first images have surfaced of Zac Efron on the set of The Lucky One, the latest film adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks book. Directed by Scott Hicks (No Reservations), the film tells the story of a Marine who carries a photograph of an anonymous woman in his pocket during his three tours in Iraq as a good luck charm.  Upon returning home, the soldier seeks out his picturesque dream girl.
Efron stars opposite Taylor Schilling (Mercy), with Blythe Danner, Riley Thomas Stewart (90210), and Adam Lefevre (Fair Game) rounding out the supporting cast.  The flick was shot in New Orleans, where the story takes place. Hit the jump for more, and to check out the images.
Though Charlie St. Cloud was a bit of a misfire for Efron, it did mark a sort of step towards more dramatic fare. The guy’s got talent, and I had hoped that after Me and Orson Welles the actor was favoring smaller independent films, but he doesn’t seem to be taking that track at the moment. The involvement of Hicks is intriguing, though there’s no telling whether this Sparks adaptation will be more The Notebook (refreshingly well-done) or more The Last Song (sappy cheese-fest).
As you can tell, Efron spent a tiny bit of time at the gym to prepare for the role. In addition, the actor buzzed his head, and once shooting wrapped offered to make a donation to Kingsley House for each crew member that shaved their head as well. Apparently some 30 crew members took the generous actor up on his offer.
Here’s the images from The Lucky One. The film currently has no stated release date.

Photos from the Set of X-MEN: FIRST CLASS

by Brendan Bettinger    Posted: December 23rd, 2010

Crane technician Joe Cuzan has taken a few photos on the set of X-Men: First Class which give some insight into the size of the production.  The images give you a look at the Blackbird (the aircraft of the X-Men seen in previous set photos) in ruins, plus a storyboard that a source more knowledgeable than myself suggested looks like “Riptide involved in some sort of fight scene.”
X-Men: First Class stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, and January Jones.  The film opens on June 3, 2011.  Hit the jump to check out the images.

Here’s some more information on the Blackbird courtesy of Wikipedia:
When the X-Men were first introduced, they were portrayed as travelling in Professor Xavier’s private jet and helicopter, advanced but fairly conventional aircraft with remote autopilots (i.e., the Professor flew them from home). When the series resumed in 1975, the X-Men were shown using a new strato-Jet, that was visually based on a modified, scaled-up version of the Lockheed SR-71 “Blackbird” spy plane (hence the name), but was modified to carry several passengers, as well as for Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL). Some writers have referred to this design as the “SR-73″ or the “SR-77″, and is known to be canon in most plotlines of the Marvel Universe, including X-Men: Evolution, where it is referenced by Scott as the SR-77 in the first episode. The original X-Men Blackbird has been destroyed and rebuilt numerous times in the course of the team’s many adventures. The later versions incorporated technology created by the mutant inventor Forge, as well as alien (Shi’ar) technology, including weapon systems, holographic active camouflage, and engines capable of hypersonic speeds. One version of the Blackbird possessed an experimental cockpit windshield that was infused with traces of the same ruby quartz material used in Cyclops’ visor, allowing him to project and amplify his optic blasts through the windshield.
