Aaron Sorkin and John Krasinski Developing HBO Miniseries LIFE AT THE MARMONT

by Ethan Anderton    Posted: June 23rd, 2011

He’s already got a new drama series at HBO with More as This Story Develops on the way, but Aaron Sorkin is working on yet another project at the cable network now. THR reports The Social Network scribe and The Office star John Krasinski are developing a new miniseries at HBO called Life at the Marmont, based on the book of the same name by the infamous hotel owners Raymond R. Sarlot and Fred Basten. The landmark Chateau Marmont at the center of Hollywood has long been a popular location always drawing in the biggest names in film, television, music and literature. Apparently the series, which Krasinski which also have a role in, will have a series of interconnected stories of several different hotel guests over several generations. I’m always interested in projects Krasinski takes on outside of The Office, and with Sorkin involved, this is yet another promising piece of entertainment from HBO.

James McAvoy to Replace Michael Fassbender in Danny Boyle’s TRANCE

by Adam Chitwood    Posted: June 23rd, 2011

It looks like Professor X is taking over a job originally set for Magneto. Variety reports that James McAvoy is in early discussions to join Danny Boyle’s Trance in a role for which Michael Fassbender was previously in talks. The film is a remake of Joe Ahearne’s 2003 TV movie of the same name and centers on an art heist gone wrong. The mastermind of the heist suffers a blow to the head during the operation, and subsequently suffers from amnesia. When his team questions the validity of his claims, and given that he’s the only one who knows where the painting is hidden, a female hypnotist is hired to get into his brain.
Boyle plans to start production in September, and after filming wraps he will immediately move on to directing the opening ceremony for London’s 2012 Summer Olympics. After the Olympics conclude in August, he’ll return to Trance to begin post-production, with a March 2013 release date being eyed. So all-in-all, Boyle has a very busy year coming up. While Fassbender’s a fantastic actor and it would’ve been nice to see him team up with Boyle, McAvoy is no slouch himself, so the casting change doesn’t seem too drastic.

Julia Ormond in Talks to Play Superman’s Mom in MAN OF STEEL

by Adam Chitwood    Posted: June 23rd, 2011

Director Zack Snyder continues to fill out the cast for Man of Steel, and it looks like he’s found Superman’s mom. Deadline reports that Julia Ormond is in talks to star as Superman’s Kryptonian mother Lara Lor-Van, opposite Russell Crowe who was recently cast as father Jor-El. Their counterparts, Clark Kent’s adoptive Earth parents, will be played by Kevin Costner and Diane Lane.
Henry Cavill is set to play the titular Man of Steel, with Amy Adams poised to play Lois Lane and, in an inspired bit of casting, Michael Shannon will be taking on the role of General Zod. Antje Traue will play villain/Zod’s partner Faora. Details on David Goyer’s script are mum, but production is set to get underway next month in Vancouver. Produced by Christopher Nolan, Man of Steel is currently eying a holiday 2012 release.

David O. Russell Testing Actresses for THE SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK Including Rachel McAdams and Olivia Wilde

by Adam Chitwood   Posted: June 23rd, 2011

Director David O. Russell is readying his follow-up to last year’s The Fighter, and he’s begun searching for his lead actress. Russell will next tackle an adaptation of The Silver Linings Playbook, which already has Mark Wahlberg set to star as a former high school history teacher who has just been released from a mental institution and plans on reconciling with his estranged wife.
Now Risky Business reports that Russell will be testing a number of actresses throughout the weekend to find his leading lady. Those meeting with Russell include: Elizabeth Banks, Kirsten Dunst, Blake Lively, Rooney Mara, Rachel McAdams, Andrea Riseborough and Olivia Wilde. Jennifer Lawrence is also mentioned, but her status is unclear. Filming is set to start in August. Angelina Jolie had recently been mentioned as a possibility as well, but she’s not included in this report. Hit the jump to read a synopsis of the book. http://collider.com/david-o-russell-silver-linings-playbook-rachel-mcadams/98325/

Exclusive: Jason Segel Talks BAD TEACHER, THE MUPPETS, THE FIVE-YEAR ENGAGEMENT, JEFF WHO LIVES AT HOME and More

Jason Segel is such a charming, funny and genuinely nice guy that it’s easy to like him, as a person and as an actor. The fact that he has the talent to back all that up makes it impossible not to be a fan. In the new raunchy comedy Bad Teacher, starring Cameron Diaz as the inappropriately foul-mouthed and ruthless middle school teacher Elizabeth Halsey, Segel plays happy-go-lucky gym teacher Russell Gettis. Unfazed by rejection, he keeps flirting with and pursuing Elizabeth, even though she has told him that it’s never going to happen because he’s just not rich enough for her.
At the film’s press day, Jason Segel spoke to Collider for this exclusive interview, in which he talked about working non-stop while juggling films with his television series How I Met Your Mother, his relationship with Rush since shooting I Love You, Man, how much fun he had working opposite Cameron Diaz for Bad Teacher, and the tremendous respect he has for Justin Timberlake. He also talked about what attracted him to Jeff Who Lives at Home (he’s seen the film and says it’s fantastic), The Muppets being a dream project, how great the Freaks & Geeks / Undeclared reunion was at PaleyFest earlier this year, how much he’s been enjoying shooting The Five-Year Engagement with Nic Stoller, and that he’d really like to eat a Reuben, once he’s done playing a leading man for that film. Posters For Contagion, Final Destination 5 And More Arrive Online

published: 2011-06-21 15:22:06 Author: Eric Eisenberg
Last week was the 2001 Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas. While much of what came out of the convention wasn't that great, it did provide looks at projects including The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man, and The Hunger Games. But while the expo has long since ended, concept art is still leaking online.

While the site doesn't specify if the artwork comes from the aforementioned Licensing Expo, JoBlo has put up six new posters from upcoming films, including Contagion, Final Destination 5, New Year's Eve, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas, and J. Edgar. It should be noted that while the last four are examples of poster concepts, the first two are real and will probably be officially released sometime soon (Contagion is due out int theaters on October 21 while Final Destination 5 arrives on August 12).

Check out three of the posters below and head over to JoBlo for the rest.

James McAvoy Welcomes Andrea Riseborough To Welcome The Punch

published: 2011-06-21 14:14:57 Author: Sean O'Connell
Andrea Riseborough, who co-starred in a pair of festival darlings last year, is poised to break out in a bigger feature alongside an A-list (or, actually, X-list) leading man.

Riseborough, who had parts in both Made in Dagenham and Mark Romanek’s moody Never Let Me Go, has been cast opposite X-Men: First Class star James McAvoy in the British crime drama Welcome to the Punch, Variety is reporting. No word yet on who the actress would play, though we already know that McAvoy’s a detective forced to form what the trade calls “an unlikely union” with a criminal (played by the formidable Mark Strong of Green Lantern, Kick-Ass and Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes).

No matter the part, this is a step up for Riseborough, a British actress who got her start on UK television – try and find the series Party Animals, where she played Kirsty MacKenzie – and seems to be climbing the ranks into bigger productions and, we hope, better roles. Next she’ll be seen with Abbie Cornish in Madonna’s feature film
W.E.<./i>. As for Welcome To The Punch, which is written and directed by Eran Creevy, it starts production on July 18 in London.http://www.cinemablend.com/new/James-McAvoy-Welcomes-Andrea-Riseborough-To-Welcome-The-Punch-25328.html

Ron Howard's Dark Tower Isn't Dead And Javier Bardem Isn't Cast

published: 2011-06-21 11:43:36 Author: Josh Tyler
Ron Howard’s upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s Dark Tower series was originally announced as one of the most ambitious projects ever undertaken. It was to be a project so big that it couldn’t be contained in one format, to be told in different parts both on the big screen and the small screen. Then, somewhere along the way, Universal’s accountants got involved and essentially said, no way, we’re not risking that much money. Now we’re not even sure if The Dark Tower will get made at all, or if it does get made whether Ron Howard will be given a big enough budget to do anything with it.

Ron and his producing partner Brian Grazer recent sat down with Deadline and offered an update on where they’re at with The Dark Tower, and while their project isn’t dead yet, things seem kind of bleak. Yet they sound determined to do it as a media format spanning project. Howard thinks that’s important and explains it this way:

We could have tried to force all of it into one or two or three movies. It became clear to me that the medium of TV has become so bold and cool, we could use it to our advantage creatively and really fulfill the possibilities of this universe of characters King gave us to work with. We can use the intimacy of television when that’s appropriate, and the scope and scale of the big screen with the bigger fantasy ideas. We discovered elements that would probably never have a home either on the big screen or on TV, but would make fantastic narrative gaming opportunities that won’t rehash the movies or TV, but have its own material borne out of the books and graphic novels. We’ve got gaming designers and there is enthusiasm for that. It’s a way to use all the mediums at our disposal to try to fulfill what’s possible. Universal sees this as an asset that can benefit the company in a lot of different ways.
I get excited just reading that, not only because I love The Dark Tower, but because it’s a big, bold idea of the kind we haven’t really seen in Hollywood since New Line Cinema risked a ton of money on shooting three Lord of the Rings movies back to back. Actually, compared to this idea, Lord of the Rings was a small thing. I guess it’s easy to understand why the studio, Universal Pictures, might have blanched at the prospect of taking such a big risk. But it sounds like they may still be on board. Howard explains the delays:
The first version represented a bold attempt to fast track, because of weather concerns. It was a little more dramatic to people on the outside than to us. We’d have liked to move forward on that fast track, but it was always Phase One. There was an understanding that if we couldn’t answer all the questions in a way that made sense to all the partners involved, then we would operate on a slightly more traditional timetable. Even if we go in March, that’s still moving quickly for something of this scale.
Delays we can live with, but as a fan of this series you and I know that this thing needs a massive budget if it’s ever going to be done right on the big screen. Initially they were supposed to have the money they needed, but now they’re being forced to scale it back. What no one’s sure of is just how much, and neither Howard nor Grazer will confirm how much money is being taken off the table. Grazer says:
I’m producing it with Akiva Goldsman, who wrote it to be sensitive to cost and is rewriting it to be more so. Without putting a number on it, the cuts aren’t that deep or that radical.
As for where they are with casting, last we heard it was all but a done deal for Javier Bardem to play Roland, the movie’s lead. But now they seem to be leaving the door open for someone else to take the part. When asked of Javier’s set to play Roland, Ron Howard responded this way:
Nobody is pay or play but he has said he wants to do it. We’ve spent a lot of time together. He’s fascinated by the character and has great instincts for Roland. I’m hoping when we go, he’s available and will join us. http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Ron-Howard-s-Dark-Tower-Isn-t-Dead-And-Javier-Bardem-Isn-t-Cast-25325.html

James McAvoy to Star in British Crime Thriller WELCOME TO THE PUNCH
by Matt Goldberg Posted: April 12th, 2011
James McAvoy has announced that he’s planning to star in Eran Creevy’s crime thriller Welcome to the Punch. According to The Playlist, the movie is in the vein of Michael Mann’s Heat “involves a London detective, Max Lewinsky (likely the role for McAvoy), whose old nemesis, an armed robber known as Red Diesel, reappears after five years away—but it’s only the tip of a massive conspiracy.” The Playlist adds that “the script’s mostly very strong, a gripping cop thriller with a scope and a level of action that’s quite uncommon for the British film industry.” For those unfamiliar with Creevy, he previously directed the low-budget drama Shifty, which became a cult hit in the UK, but was never released stateside.

Deadline reports that filming is expected to begin in July, which leaves time for McAvoy to make his rumored reunion with Atonement director Joe Wright in an adaptation of Anna Karenina. McAvoy will next be seen in theaters on June 3rd as the young Charles Xavier in X-Men: First Class.

New Images of Ryan Reynolds in Full GREEN LANTERN Costume

by Matt Goldberg    Posted: April 12th, 2011

Warner Bros. has released three new images of Ryan Reynolds in his full Green Lantern costume.  Since the suit is entirely CGI and was made that way so it could pulsate, glow, and do other kinds of neat visual effects, still images don’t really do it justice.  I’m more interested in seeing how it’s represented on screen and in motion.

First Look at Josh Brolin as Young Agent K in MEN IN BLACK III

by Matt Goldberg    Posted: April 12th, 2011

men-in-black-3-set-photo-movie-image-will-smith-josh-brolin-slice-01
It looks like Men in Black 3 must have sorted out its script issues (whether those issues were sorted out successfully remains to be seen) because filming has resumed on the flick and we now have our first look at Josh Brolin who plays the younger version of Tommy Lee Jones’ character, Agent K.  For those unfamiliar with the plot, the story this time around involved Agent J (Will Smith) going back to the 1960s to save K and thus prevent a universe-ending catastrophe.  If you can imagine Josh Brolin with slicked-back hair and wearing a black suit and tie, then you have a pretty good idea of what the character looks like.  If you can’t imagine that, then hit the jump and check out some set photos.
Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, the film also stars Alice Eve, Emma Thompson, Nicole Scherzinger, Rip Torn and Johnny Knoxville.  Men in Black 3 opens in 3D on May 25, 2012.

Rufus Sewell to Play Villain in ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER

Rufus Sewell will be the vampire hunted in Timur Bekmambetov’s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire HunterVariety reports that Sewell will play “Adam, the lead vampire villain” in the 3D action-horror flick.  The film stars Benjamin Walker as our re-imagined 16th President, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Mary Todd Lincoln, Anthony Mackie as Abe’s friend Will, Alan Tudyk as Stephen A. Douglas, Jimmi Simpson as Lincoln’s right hand man, and Dominic Cooper as Lincoln’s vampire-slaying mentor, Henry.

Michael Shannon Cast as General Zod in SUPERMAN Reboot MAN OF STEEL

by Brendan Bettinger    Posted: April 10th, 2011

Viggo Mortensen was never able to find the right hole in his schedule to play General Zod in the upcoming Superman reboot, now officially titled Man of Steel.  Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures, however, landed on a fantastic alternative: Michael Shannon.  Shannon was rumored for an unspecified villain role last month — the studios have announced today he will play Zod.  Director Zack Snyder remarked,
“Zod is not only one of Superman’s most formidable enemies, but one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don’t.  Michael is a powerful actor who can project both the intelligence and the malice of the character, making him perfect for the role.”
I could not agree more.  Henry Cavill will star as Clark Kent/Superman.  The supporting cast includes Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as Martha and Jonathan Kent.  Read the official announcement after the jump.

Teaser Trailer for THE WOMAN IN BLACK Starring Daniel Radcliffe

by Adam Chitwood   Posted: April 10th, 2011

The teaser trailer for the ghost thriller The Woman in Black has gone online. Starring Daniel Radcliffe, the film is based on the classic ghost story by Susan Hill that centers on a young lawyer visiting a remote English town that, naturally, holds many ghostly secrets. The trailer is very much a teaser, and doesn’t really give much of the plot away, but I’m liking the air of creepiness and general unease that it suggests.
Hit the jump to check out the teaser for yourself. The Woman in Black hits theaters in the UK on February 10th, 2012 with a US release date currently unknown.

Warner Bros. has released four minutes of the Green Lantern footage they recently debuted at CinemaCon and WonderCon. The clip provides a long look at the on-screen Oa, and I really like what I see. It’s a geometrically crazy world that human Ryan Reynolds has to believably interact with, and it looks like the visual effects department nailed it.

Directed by Martin Campbell, Green Lantern stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Jay O. Sanders, Temuera Morrison, Taika Waititi, Jon Tenney, Angela Bassett, and Tim Robbins. The DC Comics superhero adaptation is scheduled for release on June 17. Watch the footage after the jump.

Summit Pushes THE DARKEST HOUR from August to December 23 Release
by Brendan Bettinger Posted: April 2nd, 2011
Summit previously scheduled the 3D The Darkest Hour for August 5, a fairly typical summer release date for a sci-fi thriller. Per Box Office Mojo, the studio has pushed the film to December 23, a less natural holiday season bow. On the new date, The Darkest Hour must vie for 3D theaters against The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn; the date also holds The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and We Bought a Zoo.

Emile Hirsch, Olivia Thirlby, Rachel Taylor, Max Minghella, and Joel Kinnaman star as young tourists who find themselves stranded in Moscow, fighting to survive in the wake of a devastating alien attack. Chris Gorak (Right at Your Door) is directing from a script by Jon Spaihts. Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) is among the producers.

James McAvoy And Saoirse Ronan May Also Join Joe Wright's Anna Karenina
published: 2011-04-02 16:17:19 Author: Katey Rich
Joe Wright is already reuniting with one of his Atonement stars for his planned Anna Karenina film, which will star Keira Knightley, and now he may be bringing the other two on board as well. According to an article by Anne Thompson at IndieWire about British production company Working Title, Anna Karenina has been greenlit by Universal, and Wright is eyeing both James McAvoy and Saoirse Ronan for roles in the sprawling film. Jude Law and Aaron Johnson are already on board.

Both Ronan and McAvoy are keeping very busy schedules these days, though now that Ronan won't be playing the Snow White part she was heavily rumored for (it went to Lily Collins) she may have a free spot on her schedule. She and Wright are spending plenty of time together as they make the rounds to promote their new film Hanna, so it makes sense that they'd have time to talk over whichever role he wants her to play in Anna Karenina. As for McAvoy, his future will be determined by how X-Men: First Class performs this summer--he may have many years of playing Professor Xavier ahead of him. Beyond that, though, he can probably make a reunion with Wright work.

Though Hanna, a modern-day action thriller with strong fairy tale elements, is a bit of a departure from the polished period world of Atonement, Anna Karenina gets Wright back to what he established early as his wheelhouse. It's a classic story that's building a phenomenal cast-- there's nothing not to hotly anticipate here.

**AKIRA Shortlist: Robert Pattinson, Andrew Garfield, James McAvoy, Garrett Hedlund, Michael Fassbender, Chris Pine, Justin Timberlake, Joaquin Phoenix **Michael C. Hall and Sarah Silverman Interview PEEP WORLD

Michael C. Hall and Sarah Silverman Interview PEEP WORLD
by Christina Radish Posted: March 21st, 2011
In the comedy Peep World, four siblings come together on the day of the 70th birthday party of family patriarch Henry (Ron Rifkin), to deal with the ramifications of a novel that was written by the youngest sibling, Nathan (Ben Schwartz), who has exposed the family’s most intimate secrets by publishing it. To make matters even worse, the floundering Jack (Michael C. Hall), struggling actress Cheri (Sarah Silverman) and black sheep Joel (Rainn Wilson) must all deal with the horribly unflattering versions of themselves that are now being portrayed in the film adaptation of their lives.

At the film’s press day, co-stars Michael C. Hall and Sarah Silverman talked about what drew them to these roles, dealing with family secrets, and getting to improvise on set. Sarah also talked about her upcoming role in Take This Waltz, written and directed by Sarah Polley and starring Michelle Williams and Seth Rogen, and Michael said he begins shooting Season 6 of Dexter in May. Check out what they had to say after the jump:

AKIRA Shortlist: Robert Pattinson, Andrew Garfield, James McAvoy, Garrett Hedlund, Michael Fassbender, Chris Pine, Justin Timberlake, Joaquin Phoenix
by Brendan Bettinger Posted: March 21st, 2011
The live-action remake of Akira is on its way, folks, thanks in large part to the pen of Steve Kloves (the Harry Potter series). Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures are reportedly very pleased with Kloves’ rewrite and eager to get Akira in front of cameras in August. Recent casting rumors have been all over the place for the teenage main characters Kaneda and Tetsuo: from Zac Efron (23) to James Franco (32) to Brad Pitt (47). The implication has been that the studio is seeking a “massive star” to anchor the film, which apparently leads to some leeway in the agery. Deadline lists the actors that have received a script from the studio:

•For Tetsuo: Robert Pattinson, Andrew Garfield, James McAvoy
•For Kaneda: Garrett Hedlund, Michael Fassbender, Chris Pine, Justin Timberlake, Joaquin Phoenix

The Hughes brothers (Book of Eli) are on board to direct Akira, which adapts Katsuhiro Otomo’s 6-volume manga. The plan is to make two films, each of which covers three books in the series, as producer Andrew Lazar told us last summer. Hit the jump for more information on the project and background on the story.

***Quentin Tarantino’s Next Film Is a Spaghetti Western Starring Christoph Waltz **Josh Holloway to Guest Star on Two-Part Season Finale of COMMUNITY ***Yet Another Trailer for GAME OF THRONES

Quentin Tarantino’s Next Film Is a Spaghetti Western Starring Christoph Waltz

by Matt Goldberg    Posted: February 28th, 2011

Quentin Tarantino has left the world wondering how he would follow his masterful Inglourious Basterds.  Would it be an adaptation of The Shadow?  A medieval movie starring Helen Mirren?  Tarantino said it wouldn’t be a prequel to Basterds or a sequel to Kill Bill.  So what’s the genre-bending director up to?  Italian actor Franco Nero (Django) may have spilled the beans to Movieplayer [via The Playlist].  Nero says:
“The film will be called The Angel, The Bad And The Wise and is a tribute to Sergio Leone. It’s a movie that contains humor, lots of action, but also a great plot.  We have already been signed by a dozen people who will be part of project. Among the filmmakers involved include Quentin Tarantino, Keith Carradine, Treat Williams, fifteen people in all Americans who want to do this movie and so we are trying to produce it outside of Italy.”
However, this may not be entirely true.  Hit the jump for more details on this mystery greatness and how Tarantino is reteaming with Christoph Waltz.

Josh Holloway to Guest Star on Two-Part Season Finale of COMMUNITY

by Ethan Anderton    Posted: February 28th, 2011

We haven’t seen him on TV since he was marooned on a mysterious island in Lost, but now Josh Holloway (who played James “Sawyer” Ford) is set to return to TV in a great way. EW reports Holloway is closing a deal to have a guest spot in the two-part season finale of Community which will air sometime in May. The finale will attempt to capture the same magic that made their “Modern Warfare” paintball episode such the best episode of the series by returning to the game again. Holloway will be playing a mysterious figure who emerges on campus during another game of paintball. The two-part finale is sort of a sequel to the last episode, but isn’t that how every episode of a TV series works.

Yet Another Trailer for GAME OF THRONES

by Ethan Anderton    Posted: February 28th, 2011

We’ve already seen a few different trailers for HBO’s epic new fantasy series Game of Thrones, but the cable network has released yet another one. This one is much more like a movie trailer than the previous trailers and it continues to get my excited to check out this series when it finally hits the network on April 17th. Based on George R.R. Martin’s fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire the sprawling tale set in the mythical land of Westeros tells the story of the noble Stark family who become caught up in high court intrigue when patriarch Eddard (played by Sean Bean) becomes the king’s new right-hand man.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer.  Game of Thrones also stars Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage, Mark Addy, Kit Harrington, and Tamzin Merchant.

***First Posters for ONE DAY and THE CONSPIRATOR

First Posters for ONE DAY and THE CONSPIRATOR

by Brendan Bettinger    Posted: February 14th, 2011

Focus Features recently moved One Day up to July 8, which I quickly marked on my calendar.  As directed by Lone Scherfig (An Education), Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess are sure to charm in this high-concept romance: two friends who meet on the night of their college graduation and proceed to meet exactly once each year on July 15 for the next two decades.  It sounds very Blue Valentine, and this washed-out One Day poster does not seem concerned with such comparison.
The Conspirator perhaps boasts an even greater pedigree: Robert Redford directs Robin Wright, James McAvoy, Evan Rachel Wood, Tom Wilkinson, and Kevin Kline in the tale of Mary Surratt, the woman who was charged as a co-conspirator in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.  View the first posters for both One Day and The Conspirator after the jump.
One Day opens July 8.  Via Yahoo! Movies:
one-day-poster-anne-hathaway-jim-sturgess
Adapted from the internationally praised bestselling novel, One Day charts an extraordinary relationship. Emma (Academy Award nominee Anne Hathaway) and Dexter (Jim Sturgess) meet on the night of their college graduation – July 15th, 1988. She is a working-class girl of principle and ambition who dreams of making the world a better place. He is a wealthy charmer who dreams that the world will be his playground.
For the next two decades, every July 15th reveals to us how “Em” and “Dex” are faring, as their friendship ebbs and flows with the passing of the years. Through laughter and romance, heartbreak and exhilaration, they experience the grandeur of life. Somewhere along their journey, these two people realize that what they are searching and hoping for has been there for them all along.

The Conspirator opens April 15.  Via Kino Gallery:

In the wake of Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, seven men and one woman are arrested and charged with conspiring to kill the President, Vice President, and Secretary of State. The lone woman charged, Mary Surratt, owns a boarding house where John Wilkes Booth, and others met and planned the simultaneous attacks.
