Only Christopher Nolan Knows "The Dark Knight Rises" Ending

In an interview with AbsoluteRadio, Gary Oldman talked about the level of secrecy around the script for "The Dark Knight Rises" that Christopher Nolan has set up.
"To get into the production office, you have to have someone meet you and there are keys and various doors that lock," he explained. "The script you read in the production office, and there is no ending because [Nolan] tells you the ending so that it doesn't leak and get out, and people spoil it on the internet."
Oldman also mentioned that his character will have interaction with Bane, played by Tom Hardy. "I have quite a bit to do with Tom in this one," he said.

Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris" Trailer

Today we have the trailer for the upcoming Woody Allen film "Midnight in Paris," starring Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Marion Cotillard, Kathy Bates, and Adrien Brody. Check it out below.
Plot: A romantic comedy about a family traveling to the French capital for business. The party includes a young engaged couple forced to confront the illusion that a life different from their own is better.
"Midnight in Paris" is scheduled to hit theaters on May 20th, in limited release.

Gary Oldman Says Christopher Nolan May Return for "Batman 4"

DigitalSpy caught up with Gary Oldman at the Jameson Empire Awards and asked him to confirm that "The Dark Knight Rises" is the last Batman installment that Christopher Nolan will direct.
"Chris is always negotiating," said Oldman. "So when he says that [he won't come back], I don't know."
Nolan is known for playing games. After "Batman Begins," he pretended to be unsure about returning to the franchise for both "The Dark Knight" and "The Dark Knight Rises." He ended up getting his way every time and Warner Bros even funded "Inception" as a way to bring Nolan back for another Batman movie.
This time, however, he actually stated that "The Dark Knight Rises" will be his last. But he has yet to make that clear to the cast, because even Christian Bale isn't sure that Nolan is done with Batman. Otherwise, the actor wouldn't be promising to reprise his role as many times as Nolan needs him.

Tom Hanks was guest on Jimmy Kimmel’s post-Oscar show last night and he brought along the first clip from his new film Larry Crowne. The story centers on a laid-off middle-aged man (Hanks) who goes back to college and strikes up a relationship with one of his professors (Julia Roberts). Larry Crowne is the first film Hanks has directed since 1996’s That Thing You Do, and he co-wrote the script with Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding). The clip looks charming and he almost always succeeds when it comes to light-hearted fare.

First Look at Sentinel Prime from TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON; Plus New Details on the Story

The latest issue of Empire puts new Transformers: Dark of the Moon Autobot Sentinel Prime on the cover alongside Optimus Prime. If you weren’t a fan of robot beards from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, that’s too bad. Sentinal Prime not only has facial hair, he has braided facial hair. It shows that not only will he whoop some Decepticon ass, but he’ll go listen to your jam band afterwards.

Universal to Distribute TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY Starring Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, and Mark Strong

Universal Pictures has picked up the domestic distribution rights to Tomas Alfredson’s adaptation of John Le Carre’s Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. The Cold War thriller centers on semi-retired agent George Smiley (Gary Oldman) who is pulled out of semi-retirement to ferret out a Soviet mole within MI6. The film has an impressive cast that also includes Oscar-winner Colin Firth (great to write that), Tom Hardy, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, John Hurt and Toby Jones.
According to Deadline, the film (which is Alfredson’s follow-up to Let the Right One In) was a hot project at the Berlin Film Festival, but Universal chose to exercise its first-look option and snatch the project away from a bidding war between The Weinstein Company and Summit Entertainment. Oldman reportedly gives a “tour de force” performance in the film, which is currently in post-production. Universal is said to be eyeing a November/December release for the film, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it plays at the Toronto International Film Festival. Christian Bale to Reunite with MACHINIST Director Brad Anderson for CONCRETE ISLAND

Director Brad Anderson is looking to reunite with Batman himself, Christian Bale, for his next film outing. In 2004, Bale transformed himself into a small bird for Anderson’s psychological thriller The Machinist. During a recent interview, Anderson announced that he and Bale are looking to team up yet again for his next flick, Concrete Island, which he described thusly:“The best way to describe it is it’s like an urban Robinson Crusoe story – a guy crashes a car into a highway interchange and is marooned in this weedy lot, injured, and can’t escape and he’s basically trying to survive in the middle of the big urban Metropolis.”In the interview with Shock Till You Drop, Anderson said they plan to shoot the film when Bale can fit it into his schedule (which, more than likely, will not be this year). Bale is currently filming 13 Flowers of Nanjing with director Zhang Yimou, and will then move on to The Dark Knight Rises, the presumed concluding chapter in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Anderson is getting ready to release Vanishing on 7th Street.

Stanley Tucci and Bill Nighy Join Bryan Singer’s JACK THE GIANT KILLER

Two highly esteemed actors have joined the cast of director Bryan Singer’s (X-Men, X2) fantasy tale Jack the Giant Killer. Stanley Tucci is set to play the villain of the film, Roderick, while Bill Nighy will portray Fallon, the leader of the giants. The film is a darker re-telling of the classic “Jack and the Beanstalk” fairy tale, with Jack going after the princess who has been kidnapped and taken to the giants’ kingdom. No actor is currently attached to play the title role of Jack, but Kick-Ass star has been an early favorite and recently screen tested for the film.The Wrap reports that Tucci’s character is an advisor to the king in the film and has plans of taking over Clositer. Nighy’s character of Fallon is two-headed, with the other head being played by John Kassir (the voice of the Cryptkeeper in the Tales from the Crypt series). When Steve recently sat down with producer Neal Moritz, he stated that filming on Jack was set to begin in March, so expect more casting news very soon as the production start-date nears.

A quartet of actors are the latest to join director John Hillcoat’s (The Road) adaptation of Matt Bondourant’s gangster saga The Wettest County in the World. Gary Oldman, Guy Pierce, Mia Wasikowska (The Kids are All Right) and Jason Clarke (Public Enemies) are the latest actors to join the project. Shia Labeuof stars in the film which centers on a family of prohibition-era bootleggers. Tom Hardy and Dane Dehaan (True Blood) also star in the film alongside Jessica Chastain (Terrence Malick’s The Tree of Life) as Hardy’s love interest. THR reports that Oldman will portray a gangster who enlists Labeuof and his friends has alcohol delivery boys, while Pierce will take on the role of an overtly violent deputy. Wasikowska is set to play Labeuof’s love interest.When Steve recently sat down with Chastain at Sundance, the actress said The Wettest County is basically a 1930’s gangster film, and they start filming in Atlanta in March. Anthony Hopkins in Talks to Play Alfred Hitchcock

Sir Anthony Hopkins may soon make a turn as the Master of Suspense, Sir Alfred Hitchcock. The Oscar-winner is currently in negotiations with Ivan Reitman’s Montecito Pictures to star in the film adaptation of Stephen Rebello’s book Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho. Momentum on the film is certainly gaining as, only two days ago, we reported that Anvil! The Story of Anvil director Sacha Gervasi was in talks to direct the pic and rewrite John McLaughlin’s (Black Swan) script.
This is not Hopkins’ first time courting the role, as Heat Vision points out, that the actor was attached to a previous iteration of the project with Ryan Murphy directing and Helen Mirren starring opposite Hopkins. A couple of days ago we brought you the new trailer for Red Riding Hood, and today we’ve got some new images from director Catherine Hardwicke’s (Twilight) loose adaptation of the classic fairy tale. The film stars Amanda Seyfried as the titular girl in red (with a hood, no less), with Gary Oldman, Virginia Madsen, Julie Christie, Lukas Haas, Max Irons (Dorian Gray) and Shiloh Fernandez (United States of Tara) rounding out the cast. The Town star Rebecca Hall has been tapped to take on the lead role in director Stephen Frears’ (The Queen) adaptation of Beth Raymor’s memoir Lay the Favorite: A Memoir of Gambling. The book chronicles Raymor’s time spent mingling in the world of Vegas sports gambling. Frears directs from a script by D.V. De Vincentis, with whom he collaborated on High Fidelity and Grosse Pointe Blank. The Wrap reports that Focus Features will produce. The lovable, irascible, big-bellied Dinky had shucked life as a bookmaker back in New York, having run into trouble, for professional sports gambling; he put Raymer and the other motley staff on the phones setting up bets for all kinds of sports matchups (baseball, football, horse racing, hockey) in order to find a line that gave him an edge. Dinky referred Raymer to a high-flying bookie on Long Island, Bernard Rose, who had his own offshore network. As girl Friday Raymer fetched doughnuts, placed calls, and acted as a runner, making wads of dough, but mostly Raymer cherished working among the assortment of gambling types, the low-end hustlers and misfits she chronicles with evident tenderness.
