Evan Rachel Wood Brings 'The Conspirator' to NYC

Evan Rachel Wood attends the NYC premiere of her latest film, The Conspirator, on Monday (April 11) at The Museum of Modern Art.
Also coming out for the event: Robin Wright, James McAvoy, and director Robert Redford.
The night before, the 23-year-old actress premiered the drama in Washington, D.C.
The pic, which hits theaters this Friday, centers around Mary Surratt who was on trial for conspiring to assassinate Abraham Lincoln.

Alexis Bledel: 'Conspirator' NYC Premiere!

Alexis Bledel sparkles in an Oscar de la Renta dress at the premiere of The Conspirator on Monday (April 11) at NYC’s Museum of Modern Art.
The 29-year-old actress accessorized with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, a Cecelia clutch, and Piaget jewelry.
Alexis’s co-stars James McAvoy and Robin Wright also came out to support the drama.
Earlier in the day, Alexis and James were spotted at Washington, D.C.’s Union Station to catch a train to NYC after premiering the film in the nation’s capital.

Courteney Cox & David Arquette 'Scream' with Neve Campbell

Courteney Cox and David Arquette attend the premiere of their film, Scream 4, on Monday (April 11) at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

The two were joined by fellow Scream veteran Neve Campbell on the red carpet.

The fourth installment of the Wes Craven-directed thriller hits theaters this Friday (April 15)!

Last week, Courteney and David enjoyed some family time with their 6-year-old daughter Coco at Walt Disney World.

Alexis Bledel & James McAvoy: 'Conspirator' Premiere!

The 29-year-old actress was joined by her co-star - and on-screen husband - James McAvoy!
Alexis plays Sarah Weston, the wife of Frederick Aiken (McAvoy), the lawyer who defended Mary Surratt in her trial for conspiracy to assassinate Abraham Lincoln.

Quentin Tarantino’s Next Film Is a Spaghetti Western Starring Christoph Waltz

Quentin Tarantino has left the world wondering how he would follow his masterful Inglourious Basterds.  Would it be an adaptation of The Shadow?  A medieval movie starring Helen Mirren?  Tarantino said it wouldn’t be a prequel to Basterds or a sequel to Kill Bill.  So what’s the genre-bending director up to?  Italian actor Franco Nero (Django) may have spilled the beans to Movieplayer [via The Playlist].  Nero says:

“The film will be called The Angel, The Bad And The Wise and is a tribute to Sergio Leone. It’s a movie that contains humor, lots of action, but also a great plot.  We have already been signed by a dozen people who will be part of project. Among the filmmakers involved include Quentin Tarantino, Keith Carradine, Treat Williams, fifteen people in all Americans who want to do this movie and so we are trying to produce it outside of Italy.”

Josh Holloway to Guest Star on Two-Part Season Finale of COMMUNITY

We haven’t seen him on TV since he was marooned on a mysterious island in Lost, but now Josh Holloway (who played James “Sawyer” Ford) is set to return to TV in a great way. EW reports Holloway is closing a deal to have a guest spot in the two-part season finale of Community which will air sometime in May. The finale will attempt to capture the same magic that made their “Modern Warfare” paintball episode such the best episode of the series by returning to the game again. Holloway will be playing a mysterious figure who emerges on campus during another game of paintball. The two-part finale is sort of a sequel to the last episode, but isn’t that how every episode of a TV series works.

Yet Another Trailer for GAME OF THRONES

We’ve already seen a few different trailers for HBO’s epic new fantasy series Game of Thrones, but the cable network has released yet another one. This one is much more like a movie trailer than the previous trailers and it continues to get my excited to check out this series when it finally hits the network on April 17th. Based on George R.R. Martin’s fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire the sprawling tale set in the mythical land of Westeros tells the story of the noble Stark family who become caught up in high court intrigue when patriarch Eddard (played by Sean Bean) becomes the king’s new right-hand man.

Synopsis: Mary Surratt (Wright) is the lone female charged as a co-conspirator in the assassination trial of Abraham Lincoln. As the whole nation turns against her, she is forced to rely on her reluctant lawyer (James McAvoy) to uncover the truth and save her life.
The flick, which hits theaters April 15, also co-stars Alexis Bledel, Evan Rachel Wood, and Justin Long.

First Posters for ONE DAY and THE CONSPIRATOR

Focus Features recently moved One Day up to July 8, which I quickly marked on my calendar.  As directed by Lone Scherfig (An Education), Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess are sure to charm in this high-concept romance: two friends who meet on the night of their college graduation and proceed to meet exactly once each year on July 15 for the next two decades.  It sounds very Blue Valentine, and this washed-out One Day poster does not seem concerned with such comparison.

The Conspirator perhaps boasts an even greater pedigree: Robert Redford directs Robin Wright, James McAvoy, Evan Rachel Wood, Tom Wilkinson, and Kevin Kline in the tale of Mary Surratt, the woman who was charged as a co-conspirator in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.  View the first posters for both One Day and The Conspirator after the jump.

Trailer for Robert Redford’s Lincoln Assassination Film THE CONSPIRATOR

With this being Sundance week and all, what better time than now to premiere the trailer for Robert Redford’s new film The Conspirator? (In case you live under a rock, Redford acquired the festival in 1985 and has been spearheading it ever since). Directed by Redford, the period film tells the story of Mary Surratt, the female who was charged as a co-conspirator in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, and the aftermath that followed her arrest.  The film boasts a wildly impressive cast including Robin Wright as Surratt, James McAvoy, Evan Rachel Wood, Tom Wilkinson, Kevin Kline, Stephen Root, Justin Long, Danny Huston and Jonathan Groff. Brian De Palma Will Next Direct PASSION, Remake of Gallic Thriller CRIME D’AMOUR

It’s been three long years since director Brian De Palma last made a film (2007’s Redacted), and now it looks like the Scarface director has found his next project. De Palma recently announced that he will helm the thriller Passion, which is a remake of the 2010 Gallic psychodrama Crime d’amour. De Palma had this to say regarding the U.K.-set drama:

“Not since Dressed to Kill have I had a chance to combine eroticism, suspense, mystery and murder into one spell-binding cinematic experience”

The original film starred Kristin Scott Thomas and told the story of two feuding coporate execs, one of whom takes their dislike for each other to extreme lengths. Variety reports that principal photography will commence in August, with key cast to be announced by the Cannes Film Festival in May. The film will apparently take a European approach to financing, with the project being a co-production between France, Germany, U.K. and Spain (Not unlike Roman Polanski’s star-studded production of God of Carnage).

Michael Fassbender Joins Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS Starring Noomi Rapace

Michael Fassbender is the latest actor to jump onto director Ridley Scott’s Prometheus. The film, which originated as a prequel to Scott’s Alien and then became a wholly original film, currently has Noomi Rapace set in the starring role. Damon Lindelof (Lost, Star Trek) wrote the script for the film, and both he and Scott recently released statements regarding its status as an original film and not the Alien prequel everyone was expecting. However, Scott did say that “keen fans will recognize strands of Alien’s DNA.” Fassbender will apparently play an android in the flick, with Rapace taking on the lead role and Charlize Theron and Angelina Jolie reportedly circling the second female lead, a character named “Vickers.” THR reports that the Inglourious Basterds star was offered the role last year, with talks on and off throughout the fall. Now, finally, his deal is closed. As we reported earlier today, the release date of the film has shifted from March 2012 to June 3^rd 2012.  Fassbender will next be seen in X-Men: First Class on June 3^rd of this year.
