Eva Longoria Covers 'InStyle' July 2011
Eva Longoria rocks a Michael Kors swimsuit on the cover of InStyle magazine’s July 2011 issue.
Here’s what the 36-year-old Desperate Housewives actress had to share:
On learning about makeup: “I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup when I was young. I would melt crayons and try to put them on my lips, and I would use watercolors for eye shadow.”
On her beauty must-have: “Mascara is very important. If I were on a desert island, I would have to have mascara and lip balm. I’m naturally tan, but I like to use a bronzing powder or something to make my skin look shimmery.”
Her biggest tip for petite figures: “High heels. I love all designer shoes. There’s this pair in my closet by Versace, and they must be 8 inches - crazy tall! I once tried to count how many I had. All I know is that I just donated 60 pairs.”
On her future in television: “I hope Desperate Housewives never ends. I love this job. It’s so fulfilling. But I also love producing and being behind the camera. What’s in front of the camera rarely excites me as much as all of the magic of these people working behind the scenes.”
On her love life: “One thing I did learn is you don’t hold on to the bitterness of the loss; you hang on to the beauty of the love. Remember all the good things. There was a reason you met someone and a reason why you were together.”

Here’s what the 42-year-old Horrible Bosses star had to share with the mag:
On what she spent her first paycheck on: “I spent my first paycheck on a vintage Mercedes. I was struggling a little in New York, working as a waitress at Jackson Hole but not really getting any consistent acting work. Then I moved out here to Los Angeles, and I started getting pilots and working pretty regularly. I still didn’t make any decent money until I got on Friends.”
On what she’d be doing if she weren’t an actor: “Maybe an interior designer. I love seeing a house and thinking about how it should be redone or restored. I spent a lot of time doing my current house, and it’s beautiful…It’s like a beautiful work of art, and I’m very proud of it.”

Trailer: "The Silent House" Horror Film, Made in One Continuous Shot
Posted: March 27th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

Today we have the trailer for the Uruguayan horror movie "La Casa Muda (The Silent House)," which was filmed in one single continuous 78-minute shot. Check it out below.

Plot: The story focuses on Laura, who, second by second, intends to leave a house which hides an obscure secret. Laura and her father, Wilson, settle down in a cottage they have to renew since its owner will soon put the house up for sale. They intend to spend the night there and make the repairs the following morning. Everything seems to go smoothly until Laura hears a sound from outside that gets louder and louder on the upper floor of the house. Wilson goes up to see what is going on while she remains downstairs on her own, waiting for her father to come down.

"The Silent House" has played at several film festivals and is now ready to be released in the UK on April 8th. And an American remake has already been made. It recently premiered at the Sundance Film Festival with Elizabeth Olsen (sister the Olsen twins) in the lead.

by Matt Goldberg Posted:March 26th, 2011
Universal has released 7 clips for their upcoming hard-R comedy Your Highness. Patrick Wilson Provides An Update On Brett Rickaby's The Book Of Matthew
published: 2011-03-26 16:34:26 Author: Perri Nemiroff
After having seen Patrick Wilson in Joel Schumacher’s The Phantom of the Opera, it makes sense for him to have done some musical work, but Brett Rickaby? You might know Rickaby from last year’s The Crazies and, if you’re bold enough, you’ve already caught him in his latest creeper, Bereavement. Well, playing super scary isn’t the only thing this guy’s good at. With years of experience under his belt, Rickaby is ready to take a stab at writing, directing and producing. (No pun intended.)

Rickaby’s busy working on a film based on a true personal story-- and a musical-- called The Book of Matthew. Yes, the film has an IMDb page, but it’s got rumor written all over it – literally. Amongst the list of rumored stars is Wilson, so, of course, while chatting with Wilson about his upcoming film, Insidious, I had to ask about the status of The Book of Matthew.

Wilson was thrilled to recall his time on the road with Rickaby while working on a traveling musical 15 years back, but when it came to The Book of Matthew, unfortunately all Wilson could say in terms of a production update is that it’s just “so hard to get independent movies made.” On the bright side, Wilson was able to flesh out the film’s plot quite a bit. The movie comes from a play Rickaby penned which was “his own story of getting caught up in a religious sect when he was in college and him trying to get out.” Sounds like this could really be something fresh and interesting, so hopefully Rickaby will find the resources he needs to turn this one into a reality.

Hear more about The Book of Matthew in the clip below and be sure to keep an eye out for our full interview with Wilson on Insidious next week.

Cobie Smulders Talks S.H.I.E.L.D Agent Maria Hill in the Avengers

Cobie Smulders will don a catsuit for The AvengersIn February, How I Met Your Mother star Cobie Smulders was confirmed for the role of S.H.E.I.L.D. Agent Maria Hill in The Avengers. She will be playing sidekick to Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury.

Today, she has finally come forward to speak a bit about the role, revealing that she will begin shooting soon, and that she will be wearing a catsuit in the upcoming Joss Whedon directed superhero ensemble.

"We start in April, which is like... tomorrow. I literally leave here and I go to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to shoot some scenes in a catsuit. I've tried on portions of the catsuit [and] I've seen conceptual drawings of what they want it to be. It's fascinating to me. I feel like wardrobe becomes very creative on these types of movies because they literally spend weeks designing just the pants or the emblem. It's such an all-consuming process, so I'm excited to see how it all turns out."

The Avengers comes to theaters May 4th, 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Cheadle, Clark Gregg, Tom Hiddleston. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.

Saoirse Ronan Refuses to Confirm Role in The Hobbit

Saoirse Ronan has not been confirmed for The HobbitThe Hobbit is currently in production in New Zealand, with Peter Jackson directing this two-part prequel. Back in January, we reported that young actress Saoirse Ronan had joined the cast, although it seems she is still not confirmed for the Middle Earth saga. Here's what she recently had to say below.

"That's not confirmed. I would love to do it. It would be great to go there, and if they ask me I would say yes."

The actress, who previously worked with director Peter Jackson on The Lovely Bones, was reportedly circling the role of Itaril. There is speculation that her involvement in The Hobbit will not be announced until her new movie Hanna hits theaters on April 8, in a bid to drum up some publicity for that much smaller film.

to read the interview piece with Saoirse Ronan.

The Hobbit comes to theaters November 2012 and stars Cate Blanchett, Saoirse Ronan, Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood, Martin Freeman, David Tennant, Ian McKellen, Christopher Lee. The film is directed by Peter Jackson.

**First Look at Shia LaBeouf in John Hillcoat’s THE WETTEST COUNTY IN THE WORLD **New Red-Band Trailer for YOUR HIGHNESS **First Trailer for THE BIG BANG Starring Antonio Banderas **Terrence Malick’s THE TREE OF LIFE to Premiere at Cannes Film Festival in May

First Look at Shia LaBeouf in John Hillcoat’s THE WETTEST COUNTY IN THE WORLD
by Matt Goldberg Posted: March 23rd, 2011

While John Hillcoat’s The Proposition and The Road never completely clicked for me, I know he has a great film in him and I’m hoping that great film is The Wettest County in the World. Based off the novel by Matt Bondourant, Wettest County centers on two brothers (played by Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy) who become bootleggers in the American south during Prohibition. Working from a script by Nick Cave (The Proposition), the film has an incredible cast that includes not only LaBeouf and Hardy, but also Mia Wasikowska, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce, Dane DeHaan, and Jessica Chastain. Oh, and Ellis will also be scoring the film. You need to be excited for this movie.

A set photo of Shia LaBeouf has recently leaked online and shows him dressed up in period garb. Hit the jump to check out the image along with a synopsis of the novel.

New Red-Band Trailer for YOUR HIGHNESS
by Matt Goldberg Posted: March 23rd, 2011

Universal has released a new red-band trailer for David Gordon Green’s Your Highness. Rather than recite them to you, you should just hit jump and check out the not-safe-for-work trailer even if you are at work. Live dangerously.

Your Highness stars Danny McBride, James Franco, Zooey Deschanel, and Natalie Portman. It opens April 8th. ......read more;  http://collider.com/your-highness-red-band-trailer/82028/

First Trailer for THE BIG BANG Starring Antonio Banderas
by Adam Chitwood Posted: March 23rd, 2011
The first trailer for The Big Bang has hit the web. Directed by Tony Krantz (Otis), the film stars Antonio Banderas as a private detective who is hired to find a missing stripper. That’s about all the plot I’m able to boil down because, judging from the tilt-heavy trailer, this flick looks to be a bit of a mind-bender in the vein of Richard Kelly’s Southland Tales.

Hit the jump to check out the trailer. The Big Bang stars Banderas, William Fichtner, James Van Der Beek, Snoop Dogg, Delroy Lindo and Rebecca Mader. Anchor Bay Films is set to release the film on May 13th.

Terrence Malick’s THE TREE OF LIFE to Premiere at Cannes Film Festival in May
by Adam Chitwood Posted: March 23rd, 2011
Director Terrence Malick’s highly anticipated, and long in the works, The Tree of Life is finally being released this May, and now word comes that the film will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival earlier that month. Variety reports that it’s still unclear whether Malick will screen the film in-competition or not, but The Tree of Life will definitely be there. Back in 2010, it looked like the film might screen at that Cannes Film Festival, but the ever-meticulous Malick didn’t feel that the flick was ready just yet.

The Tree of Life stars Brad Pitt, Sean Penn and Jessica Chastain and follows a life from childhood in the 1950’s to adulthood in the modern day. If the trailer is any indication, audiences are in for a very characteristically Malick experience (visceral, thought-provoking, etc.). If you missed it, be sure to check out Steve’s interview with Chastain in which she describes the experience of working with an auteur like Malick. The Tree of Life hits theaters on May 27th. The 2011 Cannes Film Festival takes place from May 11th – May 22nd. Hit the jump for the official synopsis.

Sandman Still Happening!
Source: Twitter March 15, 2011

In a very exciting turn of events for fans of Neil Gaiman's "Sandman," it seems that yesterday's reports of the television series' development delay are not entirely accurate. Comic book author and DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns has just Tweeted that the series is, indeed, moving forward and, best of all, he'll be working alongside Gaiman to bring Dream to the small screen.

"Correction to world," Johns says, "The Sandman is AWAKE! :) Psyched to be working with [Neil] on developing one of the greatest series ever!"

He then adds:

"Sandman in any form - comics to live action - doesn't work without [Neil]"

Speculation suggests that Eric Kripke's comments yesterday indicate that he is no longer involved with the project's development and, while fans may be dismayed by the "Supernatural" creator's theoretical departure, having Gaiman on board is surely a creative coup for all involved.

Sandman, which launched DC Comic's Vertigo imprint, ran for 75 issues beginning in 1989. Gaiman's worlds-within-worlds weaved an episodic anthology, focusing on the allegorical character of Dream and his brothers and sisters, known as the Endless (Death, Desire, Despair, Delirium, Destruction and Destiny).

Confirmation and additional information should be available shortly, but, in the meantime, "Sandman" fans should start getting excited.

3 Character Posters for YOUR HIGHNESS Starring Danny McBride, James Franco, and Natalie Portman

your-highness-character-posters-slice
Three character posters have gone online for David Gordon Green’s upcoming swords-and-sorcery stoner comedy Your Highness. I loved the red-band trailer for the film and while these character posters are somewhat bland, I’m still interested in seeing this bizarre mash-up of buddy-stoner comedies with fantasy flicks like Krull. For those who haven’t seen the trailer (seriously, check it out), the story centers on a lazy prince (Danny McBride) who gets dragged along on a quest to rescue his brother’s bride-to-be from an evil wizard.

Hit the jump to check out the poster. The film also stars James Franco, Zooey Deschanel, and Natalie Portman. Your Highness opens April 8th.

Logan Marshall-Green Lands Lead Role in Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS
by Adam Chitwood Posted: March 14th, 2011
With filming set to begin later this month, Ridley Scott is rounding out the rest of his cast for his upcoming sci-fi flick Prometheus. Logan Marshall-Green (Devil, TV’s 24 and The O.C.) is the latest addition to the cast that now includes Noomi Rapace in the starring role, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Rafe Spall, Idris Elba, Sean Harris and Kate Dickie. Deadline reports that Marshall-Green is taking on one of the lead roles and will be portraying a crewman on the ship who is also the love interest for Rapace’s character.

An altogether original film spawned from development on prequel to Scott’s Alien, plot details on Prometheus are being very closely guarded. The original script by Jonathan Spaihts was subsequently rewritten by Damon Lindelof. Prometheus is slated for release on June 3rd, 2012.

Clifton Collins Jr. to Fight Demons in J.T. Petty’s HELLBENDERS
by Dave Trumbore Posted: March 14th, 2011
The newest cast addition to J.T. Petty’s supernatural project, Hellbenders, is Clifton Collins Jr. (NBC’s The Event). Hellbenders, based on a graphic novel written by Petty, is about a group of demonologists in Brooklyn battling the forces of evil.
