Kate Hudson is engaged to her beau, Muse rocker Matt Bellamy!
The 32-year-old actress announced the happy news on an appearance on The Today Show on Wednesday morning (April 27) while chatting about her new movie, Something Borrowed.
Kate graces this month’s cover of InStyle and talked marriage with the mag.
“I wouldn’t count it out,” Kate shared. “My own parents aren’t married, and anybody who has seen how we love, open our arms, and accept people with all of their faults knows I come from a great, happy home. A wedding is a beautiful thing - and I love the idea of two people celebrating their love and bringing their families together - but Matthew and I kind of skipped that part and went right to the good stuff!”

Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart Cover 'Entertainment Weekly'
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart share a sweet moment on the cover of Entertainment Weekly’s latest issue, on newsstands Friday (April 29).
Here’s what the Twilight stars had to share:
Kristen, on wishing the film could be more graphic: “In some ways it was disappointing not to be able to really go there. We imagined it every single day. It’s funny because when [the PG-13 issue] comes up, everybody thinks it’s all about the sex. The birth is really effective, and I’ve heard it really hits you in the face. But what it could have been? It could have been shocking and grotesque, because that’s how it was written in the book. I would have loved to have been puking up blood.”
Rob, on what scenes he loved to shoot: “I like the honeymoon scenes because it’s such a massive turnaround in Edward and Bella’s relationship.”
Kristen, on shooting Bella and Edward’s wedding day: “I never would have thought I’d be affected in this way, but it was one of the coolest things that I’ve done. There was a certain point when I walked on set, and I saw everyone from the entire cast sitting there in the pews, about to do their bit. And it was just so perfect for me in that moment. It was so emotional in such a real way. I literally felt like thanking them for coming.”

The Hurt Locker star Anthony Mackie may be starring in two high profile upcoming projects. First up, the actor is fielding an offer to star alongside Brad Pitt and The Killing’s Mireille Enos in the post-apocalyptic tale World War Z. Directed by Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace), the is based on the book of the same name which details the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse from the perspective of survivors as varied as mercenaries, US government officials, and impoverished Palestinians.Variety also reports that Mackie is being eyed for a role in Ruben Fleischer’s (Zombieland) 1940’s crime drama Gangster Squad. That film boasts an impressive cast that includes Sean Penn, Josh Brolin and Ryan Gosling. No word on what role Mackie would play in either film. There’ve been rumblings about Quentin Tarantino’s next project for a while now. He previously talked about doing “a Southern,” a film that would bring to surface all the slavery issues that Americans are none too fond of tackling. Then there was that spaghetti western with Franco Nero rumored to be starring. In that updated story, it was confirmed that Tarantino was in fact writing a western, and Christoph Waltz is one of the stars. Beyond that, nothing else was known. The script was due to be turned in to The Weinstein Company in two months, at which time we might know more. Well, that was February.Today, we may have learned that the title of Tarantino’s next film may be Django Unchained. How did we learn this? You may ask yourself, “What would it take to prolong Steven Soderbergh’s retirement from directing?” The answer, apparently, is a movie about male strippers. The Ocean’s Eleven director just committed to helm Magic Mike, starring Channing Tatum. The film is based on Tatum’s experiences as a 19-year-old stripper, and tells “a story of friendship set in the world of male strippers.” Here’s what the director had to say about the project:“When Channing talked to me about this, I thought it was one of the best ideas I’d ever heard for a movie. I said I wanted in immediately. It’s sexy, funny and shocking. We’re using Saturday Night Fever as our model, so hopefully we’re on the right track.”Soderbergh has long talked about retiring after filming his Liberace biopic with Michael Douglas, and this doesn’t seem to change things much. Deadline reports that he will squeeze Magic Mike in this fall before he shoots his last two fllms. Sebastian Stan (Captain America: The First Avenger) and Socratis Otto (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) have been set to join the cast of Gone. Variety reports that the duo will star alongside Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter), Emily Wickersham (I Am Number Four) and Wes Bently (Jonah Hex) in the thriller. The script by Allison Burnett (Fame) centers on “a kidnap survivor (Seyfried) who attempts to find the same killer whom she believes has abducted her sister.”Heitor Dhalia (Adrift) is set to direct the film, with Summit Entertainment handling distribution. No word on what roles Stan and Otto will take on, but the film was supposed to start filming sometime this month. Stan will next be seen as Steve Rogers’ sidekick Bucky Barnes in Captain America.

Robert Zemeckis in Talks to Direct Time-Travel Film REPLAY

Could Robert Zemeckis finally be returning to live-action? And with a time-travel film to boot? It appears so, as Vulture reports that the director is in ”serious talks” to helm the adaptation of Ken Grimwood’s novel Replay. The thrilling premise centers on a radio journalist in his forties who dies, but awakes back in 1963 in his 18-year-old body with all of his previous memories intact. The kicker? He always dies in 1988, but returns to 1963 to start the whole 25 years over again with every single memory intact and the ability to make different life choices (spouse, kids, etc.)This sounds like a fantastic concept, and a return to form for the Back to the Future director. Following the demise of his motion-capture Yellow Submarine remake, Zemeckis has been tooling around with a couple of live-action flicks. Most recently, he entered early negotiations to helm Flight with Denzel Washington. With its May 26th release quickly approaching, Warner Bros. has released a new promotional banner for The Hangover Part II. While I’ve been known to be somewhat critical of the film’s trailer and television spots, I have to say that I enjoy any promotional materials that play up both Ken Jeong and the monkey (not trying to be disrespectful, I truly don’t know his name). Considering both are included here, this new banner is okay in my book.

Most of the young cast surrounding Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth in The Hunger Games will be comprised of unknowns. For the scattered adult roles, Lionsgate is looking to more familiar faces. Elizabeth Banks was confirmed as Effie Trinket earlier today, and word on the street says the studio is after John C. Reilly to play drunken mentor Haymitch. Vulture hears Lionsgate has sent out offers to a bevy of actors for other supporting roles, including Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci, and Lenny Kravitz. Strict nondisclosure agreements have prevented too many details leaking, though Harrelson was linked to the role of Seneca Crane, the designer behind the Hunger Games that pit 24 teens against each other in a fight to the death.The Hunger Games, based on the first book in a series by Suzanne Collins, is scheduled for release on March 23, 2012. Jane Levy in Talks for Halloween Teen Comedy FUN SIZE

Jane Levy is in talks to star in Fun Size, the feature directorial debut of Josh Schwartz (Chuck). Victoria Justice (Victorious) stars as Wren , “a sarcastic teen who takes her little brother-trick-or-treating only to lose him along the way.” THR indicates Levy is under consideration to play Wren’s best friend in the movie. Thomas Mann is in talks to play a debate team member in love with Wren.I tend to love movies that take place over a single night, and the comedic blend of Schwartz and The Colbert Report writer Max Werner has potential. This sounds the ideal opportunity for Justice to transition into the next stage of her career. Levy is a fresh (and, might I add, incredibly beautiful) face in the acting game, with just a few episodes of Shameless on her resume. Levy recently starred in the ABC comedy pilot Suburgatory and is now preparing for her first feature role in the indie dramedy Nobody Walks.

Jeff Bridges in Talks to Join Ryan Reynolds in R.I.P.D.

Just recently, Zach Galifianakis was forced to drop out of R.I.P.D. opposite Ryan Reynolds. Well now it looks like Jeff Bridges may be coming aboard the project in his wake. Directed by Robert Schwentke (Red), the supernatural comedy is based on the Dark Horse comic in which dead police officers patrol the underworld. Deadline reports that Bridges is now in talks to join the film following Galifianakis’ departure.The project has been in development for a while, and speaking to Steve earlier this month Reynolds said that he hopes to shoot it soon. Soon may be a ways off, however, because one of the reasons Galifianakis left the project was fear that Warner Bros. would be exercising their Green Lantern sequel option, forcing Reynolds to shoot Green Lantern 2 later this year, which would push R.I.P.D. back significantly. The casting of Bridges thrills me though; the guy’s comic timing is a thing of beauty. Hopefully things come together at some point to actually get this thing rolling.

Daniel Cudmore (Twilight: New Moon), Travis Fimmel (TV’s The Beast), and Andre Braugher (TV’s Men of a Certain Age) have joined Billy Bob Thornton and Eva Longoria in the Southern comedy The Baytown Disco. Directed by Barry Battles, the film follows three brothers who, as usual, get more than they bargained for when they agree to help a woman get her son back from his abusive father. Serinda Swan, Clayne Crawford, Thomas Sangster and Meagan Good also star.THR reports that Cudmore, Fimmel and Crawford will star as the trio of brothers. The script, by Battles and Griffin Hood, made the 2009 Black List. The Baytown Disco is set to start filming on May 2nd in Louisiana.

Jeremy Renner Developing Steve McQueen Biopic for Director Ivan Zacharias

Jeremy Renner, who will eventually star in every major franchise in Hollywood, has formed his own production company and is in the process of developing a biopic based on “The King of Cool”, actor Steve McQueen. According to Risky Business, the biopic will be a starring vehicle for Renner with James Gray (Two Lovers) writing the script and commercial director Ivan Zacharias making his feature directing debut on the project. Gray will base his script off two books by Marshall Terrill: Portrait of an American Rebel and The Life and Legend of a Hollywood Icon.

We’ve been sent the one sheet and some images from the upcoming Jason Sudeikis comedy A Good Old Fashioned Orgy. Written/directed by Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck, A Good Old Fashioned Orgy tells the story of a known party animal (Sudeikis) who decides to throw a classic summer orgy at his father’s Hampton residence upon learning that pops is selling the estate. Just typing the above synopsis takes me back to the countless summer nights I spent not participating in orgies in the Hamptons.
In addition to Sudeikis, A Good Old Fashioned Orgy also stars Will Forte, Leslie Bibb, Lake Bell, and Nick Kroll. The film premieres tomorrow night at the Tribeca Film Festival and will be released in select cities this September. Hit the jump to check out the poster, images, and a brief synopsis.

It looks like Paramount really is serious about getting their Jack Ryan reboot right. The studio has now brought in screenwriter David Koepp (Jurassic Park) to rewrite the script for the franchise reboot starring Chris Pine. Originally, Steven Zaillian, who wrote the script for the Jack Ryan flick Clear and Present Danger, was brought in to rewrite, but he subsequently had a change of heart.
Lost’s Jack Bender is still on board to direct, and Deadline reports that the studio is aiming for a January start-date on the flick, after Pine finishes filming Star Trek 2. The problem with that, though, is that the Star Trek sequel still doesn’t officially have a director. J.J. Abrams is expected to return, but he’s awaiting a final script, which is still being tweaked by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof. Last we heard, Paramount was hoping to get Star Trek 2 rolling this fall in order to meet the June 29th, 2012 release date, but Pine moving on to the Jack Ryan reboot in January seems a bit premature. We’ll see if all goes according to plan.
Ben Kingsley to Join Sacha Baron Cohen in THE DICTATOR

Just yesterday it was reported that a number of actresses were under consideration for a leading female role in the next Sacha Baron Cohen film The Dictator, including Kristen Wiig, Gillian Jacobs and Anna Faris. Now, it looks like Hugo Cabret costar Ben Kingsley will be reteaming with Cohen in the Borat-esque flick. Variety reports that Kingsley will play one of two Middle Eastern characters in the film, with Jason Mantzoukas (The League) in talks to play the other.Directed by Larry Charles, The Dictator tells the “heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed,” with Cohen playing dual roles as the dictator and a goat herder. Filming is set to begin in May, which explains why casting seems to be heating up at the moment. Expect more announcements sooner rather than later for the comedy. The Dictator is slated for a May 11th, 2012 release.

With directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) 21 Jump Street now filming in New Orleans, the first images of Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill in their police uniforms have hit the net. While the outfits are nothing out of the ordinary, there is one thing worth noting: how much weight Hill has lost! From the low res pictures, I’d say he’s lost at least forty pounds. Maybe more. It’s a considerable change from what he looked like in Get Him to the Greek.
As most of you know, 21 Jump Street tells the story of two young cops (Hill and Tatum) who go undercover to infiltrate a high school. Alongside Hill and Tatum, Ice Cube, Brie Larson, Johnny Simmons and Dave Franco star, with Rob Riggle playing the villain. Also, Johnny Depp will be doing a cameo. 21 Jump Street hits theaters on March 16th 2012. Hit the jump for the images.
Exclusive Clip from DAYDREAM NATION Starring Kat Dennings and Josh Lucas

We’ve been sent an exclusive clip from the upcoming film Daydream Nation. The story centers on a young woman (Kat Dennigns) who moves to a small town and strikes up a romance with both her teacher Barry (Josh Lucas) and her troubled classmate (Reece Thompson). In the clip, Barry, frustrated with the papers his high-school students have turned in, asks them to write a three page essay on the historical or religious figure they most admire. Because if there’s anyone teenagers admire, it’s historical and religious figures.

Elizabeth Banks Officially Signs on to Play Effie Trinket in THE HUNGER GAMES

A couple weeks ago, we reported that Elizabeth Banks was in talks to join Gary Ross’ adaptation of The Hunger Games. Today, Heat Vision confirms that she has officially signed on to play the role Effie Trinket, the “flaky bureaucrat who escorts her district’s young death-match contestants to their fate.” Banks joins Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, and Willow Shields along with an expanding cast of young actors playing tributes from various districts.
Banks will be seen in theaters later this summer in the indie comedy Our Idiot Brother. She’s also signed on to play the alcoholic sister of Chris Pine’s character in Alex Kurtzman’s Welcome to People. Hit the jump for the official synopsis for The Hunger Games, which opens March 23, 2012.

Sneak Peek at Josh Holloway Guest Starring on COMMUNITY

Back in February we found out that Lost star Josh Holloway would have a guest spot in the season finale of Community. Well the first part of that finale airs next week and we now have a quick sneak peek at his appearance on the comedy series. A Fistful of Paintballs is the first part in a two-part season finale for the series that will be somewhat of a sequel to last season’s stellar Modern Warfare paintball episode. Holloway plays a new bad-ass on Greendale’s campus known as Black Rider. Ron Howard to Direct Max Landis Pitch AMNESTY

Ron Howard has signed on to direct Amnesty based on a pitch by screenwriter Max Landis (Fear Itself) for Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment. Deadline doesn’t have any details on the plot but says that the story “blends Robert Ludlum and JRR Tolkien.” A spy thriller set in a fantasy world is an intriguing premise. Unfortunately, Howard isn’t a very interesting director and Landis is still unproven when it comes to feature films, although he handled the script for the upcoming supernatural drama Chronicle.
But if Howard stays attached, don’t expect to see Amnesty anytime soon. He’s currently prepping to direct the first part of a trilogy based off Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series. The first film is due out on May 17, 2013.

Things are moving right along for the Farrelly brothers’ long-gestating The Three Stooges film. After finally locking up their cast with Will Sasso set as Curly, Sean Hayes signed on as Larry, and Chris Diamantopoulos in talks to play Moe, Jane Lynch has just signed on to play the head nun in the film. Deadline reports that Lynch will play Mother Superior in what will presumably be the opening “episode” of the flick. The Farrelly brothers previously mentioned that rather than doing a biopic, The Three Stooges will be comprised of three brand new episodes featuring the lovable characters.
The first episode apparently involves the Stooges’ time at an orphanage, where they (naturally) cause all kinds of kooky havoc and disruption. Cher was previously rumored to be involved with the role, but it looks like the powers-that-be have settled on Lynch. In addition to the aforementioned cast, Sofia Vergara is in talks for a leading female role in the film, though details on her character are unknown at this time. Armie Hammer in Talks to Join Johnny Depp in THE LONE RANGER

Merely a week ago, it was reported that Ryan Gosling was working on trying to fit Disney’s The Lone Ranger into his schedule, with the actor eyeing the title role opposite Johnny Depp’s Tonto. After quickly ending the talks, with Gosling unable to work the film around his schedule, we now have another actor in the running for the role: The Social Network’s Armie Hammer.
Deadline reports that Hammer is in early talks to join the project, with Gore Verbinski (the first three Pirates of the Caribbean films) at the helm. The story will supposedly focus on Depp’s Tonto, using him as an “unreliable narrator.” While the prospect of Gosling and Depp bantering in a fun adventure flick was enticing, Hammer seems to be a great choice as well. His fantastic work in The Social Network garnered him enough attention to secure a starring role in Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, which is currently filming, and the actor is also attached to Tarsem Singh’s Snow White flick.

Casting for the next Sacha Baron Cohen film The Dictator is heating up, with producers looking to fill the part of the female lead. Kristen Wiig, Anna Faris and Gillian Jacobs (Community) are among the frontrunners to play opposite Baron Cohen in the Borat-esque comedy. Larry Charles, who also helmed Borat and Bruno, is directing the film which tells the “heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed,” with Cohen playing a dictator who gets lost in the US.
THR reports that Jason Mantzoukas (The League) is already attached to play Cohen’s sidekick in the film. Producers are looking for actors with very strong improvisational skills, and understandably so given the unscripted nature of Borat and Bruno. The report stresses that Cohen and Co. are still looking to fill the female lead role, and it could very well end up going to someone other than Wiig, Faris or Jacobs. Filming is set to begin in May in New York and Morocco for a May 11th, 2012 release date.
David Lindsay-Abaire Adapting His Play GOOD PEOPLE for Focus Features; Frances McDormand to Star

David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole) opened Good People last month on Broadway, and he’s in negotiations to cash in the rave reviews for a script deal with Focus Features. 24 Frames hears Frances McDormand is attached to reprise her role as Margie Walsh from the stage production. Lindsay-Abaire, a Boston native, set the drama in the working-class, predominantly Irish neighborhood Southie. Margie is a high school dropout and single mother of a mentally disabled daughter who struggles to make ends meet. Tate Donovan (Damages) plays a successful former classmate of Margie’s — their relationship anchors the class politics explored in the production. It is not specified if Donovan or other cast members are involved in the talks with Focus; Dan Jinks (Milk) is on board as producer.

Antje Traue to Play Female Villain Faora in MAN OF STEEL [Updated]

Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot, Man of Steel, may finally be zeroing in on an actress to play the film’s female villain. There’s been some debate over whether or not the role is Ursa (played by Sarah Douglas in Superman and Superman II), the accomplice of General Zod (played in Man of Steel by Michael Shannon) comic book villain Faora (who was the inspiration for Ursa), or an entirely new character. Deadline doesn’t have the answer, but they do say that whoever the female villain is, German actress Antje Traue (Pandorum) is the frontrunner for the part. If she does get the role, she’ll be joining a cast that includes Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, and Kevin Costner.[Update: Variety reports that Antje has the role and that role is Faora. Variety also speculates that Man of Steel will use "the version of Faora that debuted in Action Comics #779 as a Pokolistanian aide of General Zod. That character was an orphan metahuman with the ability to disrupt molecular bonds, which allowed her to create a mutagenic virus that served as the linchpin of Zod's plan."]
Man of Steel is set to hit theaters December 2012.

On the heels of a new domestic trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class, Fox has also released an international version that sets a slightly different tone, and has some new footage including a first look at Oliver Platt and Ray Wise. Helen Hunt Joins John Hawkes in THE SURROGATE

Academy Award Winner Helen Hunt has joined the cast of the indie drama The Surrogate. Recent Oscar nominee John Hawkes is set to play the role of Mark O’Brien in the film based on a true story. O’Brien was “a paraplegic polio victim who lived most of his life in an iron lung, paralyzed from the neck down.” Hawkes’ character sets out to find a sex surrogate willing to take his virginity, and Variety reports that Hunt will take on the role of his surrogate. Rhea Pearlman also has a role in the film.Hunt’s character struggles with her own life, coming to terms with explaining her profession to her 12-year-old son. Ben Lewin wrote and will direct the period flick set in the 1980’s. Lewin himself is a polio survivor.
