Jeremy Renner, Jennifer Lopez, Wanda Sykes, Aziz Ansari and More Join Voice Cast of ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT
by Adam Chitwood Posted: April 26th, 2011
Hot off the heels of being named the lead in The Bourne Legacy, Jeremy Renner has been tapped to join the voice cast of Ice Age: Continental Drift alongside fellow additions Jennifer Lopez, Wanda Sykes, Aziz Ansari, Keke Palmer and Drake. Returning for the fourth film in the Ice Age series are franchise staples Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, Seann William Scott and Josh Peck.
THR reports that Renner will portray Gutt, “a self-styled master of the high seas” while Lopez will take on the role of Shira, a sabre tooth and love interest for Leary’s character. Ice Age: Continental Drift is slated for July 13th, 2012, and given the commercial success of the franchise it’s safe to assume that more sequels will follow.

"Cyborg" Remake in the Works
Posted: April 26th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
AICN has learned that "Cyborg" director Albert Pyun is planning to remake his own 1989 movie, which starred Jean-Claude Van Damme as a mercenary tracking a cyborg through a post-apocalyptic America.
Pyun told the site that he's currently in an "acquisition process" with MGM, but already has the financial backing of the same company that funded "Donnie Darko," "Memento" and "Monster."
A script has yet to be finished, but Pyun promises that there will be more "car/vehicle mayhem" with more emphasis on practical effects rather than CGI. At this point, Vince Klyn and Terrie Batson, who played the villain and the love interest in the original 1989 film, are already onboard for the remake. The helmer is hoping to also work out deals with Rutger Hauer and Michael Dudikoff.

"Scream 5" May Not Happen
Posted: April 25th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
When "Scream 4" was announced, the plan was to develop a new trilogy that would remain close to the original three films. The fourth installment recently hit theaters, grossing $18 million. It will definitely make its money back, but Dimension Films were hoping to at least top the opening numbers of the second ($33 million) and third ($35 million) films.
E! Online believes that "Scream 4" failed not because of its quality, but because it's a sequel. "If 'Scream 4' proved anything, it's that horror reboots have a better chance of survival than continuing sagas," said the site. "If there is a 'Scream 5,' expect it to be re-titled 'Scream,' and don't expect David Arquette, Courteney Cox or Neve Campbell to return unless it's in a cameo."
Moviehole reached out to its contact with ties to the studio, who said that "Scream 5" will likely not happen. "The 'Scream' franchise will likely end here, at least for the moment," said the contact, adding that it may have a future as a direct-to-DVD franchise.

Alex Winter Says "Bill and Ted 3" Script is Finished
Posted: April 25th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
On his Twitter page, "Bill and Ted" star Alex Winter has confirmed that the script for the third movie has been written and is now in his hands. "Just got the script," he wrote. "And now to read..."
About three weeks ago, Keanu Reeves said that the script, written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon (Excellent Adventure, Bogus Journey), is six weeks from completion. So it looks like things are moving forward at a fast pace.
So what's the story about? Reeves explained: "When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn't happened. So they've now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there's an element of time and they have to go back."
