Heidi Klum Covers 'Glamour' August 2011

Heidi Klum sparkles in a Stella McCartney tank on the cover of Glamour’s August 2011 issue, on newsstands Tuesday (July 5).

Here’s what the 38-year-old model and host of Project Runway had to share:

On the longevity of Project Runway: “I’m going to be 80, walking with a stick down the runway.”

On keeping things alive in the bedroom: “There’s nothing wrong with a nice garter belt. I’m not saying you have to put up a pole in your bedroom and start swinging off the rafters. But I love that sometimes!”

On whether Tim Gunn ever gives her style advice: “He hasn’t. He’s so polite - he would never say, ‘Why are you wearing that?’ Michael [Kors] is a little bit more…well, he always jokes with me. He says that my skirts are really short. He calls it fallopian length. He teases me.”

FYI: Heidi finished her cover look with MiH jeans, a Banana Republic belt, bracelets by Giles & Brother and Luis Morais, an Hermes watch, and a Wildlife by Heidi Klum bracelet and ring.

On dressing her famous curves: “I have to be careful about my proportions and keep it simple. What works for me is structure and something that shows my waist.”

On her least favorite outfit: “It’s really hard to find a bathing suit if you have breasts. You either get smooshed down or there’s no support. My husband and I have sketched out designs.”

On her go-to designers when on the red carpet: “Vivienne Westwood for drama, L’Wren Scott for her perfect tailoring and body consciousness and Zac Posen for whimsy.”

On why she, a natural blonde, dyed her hair at 10: “I was obsessed with Anne of Green Gables, so I wanted red hair. My mom said, ‘I’ll throw a rinse on it.’”

Channing Tatum Attached to Produce and Star in BLOOD BROTHERS
by Brendan Bettinger Posted: June 18th, 2011
Eric Nazarian and Sergei Bodrov have sold the pitch Blood Brothers to Chernin Entertainment. Channing Tatum is attached to star, and on board as a producer with Nazarian (The Blue Hour) and Bodrov (Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan). Details are scarce, but according to Variety, the movie will be a suspenseful thriller set in Russia.

Tatum is currently in New Orleans filming 21 Jump Street, scheduled for release on March 16, 2012. The actor has four films in the can: Ten Year (December 30), Haywire (January 20, 2012), The Vow (February 10, 2012), and The Son of No One (no release date set). Other projects on the horizon include the Steven Soderbergh collaboration Magic Mike, a Peter Pan re-imagining, and G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes. http://collider.com/channing-tatum-blood-brothers/97202/

Guillermo Del Toro Will NOT Direct "Hellboy 3"
Posted: June 19th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

Ever since "Hellboy II: The Golden Army" hit theaters, Guillermo Del Toro has been saying that he would love to direct a third/final installment. Unfortunately for "Hellboy" fans, Del Toro is working on more projects than he can handle, making the third film less of a priority every day.

Back in March, the director said that there have been zero discussions about "Hellboy 3" at Universal Pictures. And now, Mike Mignola, the creator of the "Hellboy" comic book, confirmed that Del Toro will never return to the franchise.

"Last I heard he said he would not make it," said Mignola. "In every interview there's a new story on what his next movie is and he honestly believes he's going to do all these things. But last I heard, he said 'I'm never gonna get back to Hellboy.' I'm not surprised because he won't live long enough to do a tenth of the movies he's told me he's going to make."

It's no surprise that Universal is not eager to continue the franchise, since the first two installments failed to make back the budget domestically.

David Dobkin's King Arthur Reboot Finds Home At Warner Bros.
published: 2011-06-18 09:17:50 Author: Sean O'Connell

Hoping to tap into the reboot magic that worked so well on Guy Ritchie’s reimagined Sherlock Holmes, Warner Bros. reportedly is going back to the drawing board on the King Arthur legend for a potential tentpole picture. But it’s the studio’s choice in director that sets this story of yet another remake apart from the pack.

Variety says WB wants David Dobkin, of Wedding Crashers and the upcoming body-switch comedy The Change-Up, to helm the period adventure from his own script. That likely means this Arthur will be a blend of action and comedy -- probably in line with Dobkin's own Shanghai Knights, with Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson -- than the humorless, Jerry Bruckheimer-backed version that tanked in 2004, even with Clive Owen and Keira Knightley in the lead roles.

The key will be casting. Audiences have been reluctant to embrace a modern telling of the Round Table knights, but putting the right actors in place could spell the difference between Kevin Costner’s blockbuster Robin Hood: Pribce of Thieves and Russell Crowe’s largely ignored (though underrated) Robin Hood with Ridley Scott. Who knows? Maybe if The Change-Up really works, we’ll see Ryan Reynolds as Arthur and Jason Bateman as Lancelot. Toss in Kristen Wiig as Guinevere, and I’ll get in line tomorrow for that version.

Fox Orders Zooey Deschanel Pilot THE NEW GIRL – Update: J.J. Abrams Drama ALCATRAZ Likely Next

by Brendan Bettinger   Posted: May 10th, 2011

Upfronts are next week, which means every broadcast network has a day set aside to announce new series and renewal decisions.  Fox is getting an early start with a series order for the comedy pilot The New Girl (formerly titled Chicks and Dicks).  Zooey Deschanel stars as “a quirky teacher who moves in with three guys — the cynic, the player and the man-child — after being dumped.”  Jake M. Johnson, Max Greenfield, and Damon Wayans Jr. play the three guys; Hannah Simone also stars.  Wayans Jr. currently stars in the ABC sitcom Happy Endings, which is on the bubble.  If ABC renews the series, Fox will have to recast Wayans’ role.  No Strings Attached writer Liz Meriwether created the series.  Jake Kasdan (Walk Hard) directed the single-camera pilot.

[Update: A new report suggests Fox is near a deal to pick up the J.J. Abrams-produced drama Alcatraz.  Details after the break.]

[Update 2: Click here for more Fox scheduling news, including the cancellation of Breaking In, Traffic Light, The Chicago Code, and Human Target]

James Franco Names Val Lauren the Lead in His Sal Mineo Biopic SAL

by Bill Graham    Posted: May 10th, 2011

James Franco doesn’t have a lot of down time lately. As a director, Franco has landed the lead for his next project, the Sal Mineo biopic tentatively titled Sal.  Val Lauren will play Mineo, who is most famous for his Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination opposite James Dean in Rebel Without A Cause. The young actor’s life prematurely ended at the age of 37 when he was stabbed to death in a botched robbery. Those familiar with Franco’s work will likely realize that he won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Dean in a 2001 TV movie. Franco optioned the film rights to Michael Gregg Michaud’s Sal Mineo: A Biography late last year. Hit the jump for more about Lauren, what he had to say about Mineo, and the story being told.

Naomi Watts, Liev Schreiber, and Christina Hendricks Join the Boxing Biopic THE BLEEDER

by Brendan Bettinger    Posted: May 10th, 2011

Naomi Watts, Liev Schreiber and Christina Hendricks are set to star in the boxing drama The Bleeder.  Per Variety, the film is based on the story of Chuck Wepner, the New Jersey heavyweight boxer who fought 15 rounds with Muhammad Ali and inspired to Sylvester Stallone to write Rocky.  The biopic is the natural transition for documentary filmmaker Jeff Feuerzeig (The Devil and Daniel Johnston) to directing narrative features.  Feuerzeig co-wrote the script with Jerry Stahl (Bad Boys II).

Studio home Hyde Park International is shopping The Bleeder at the Cannes Film Festival this week along with Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vegneance, The Double, Echelon, and Our Idiot Brother.  If I were a billionaire cinephile hanging out in the French Riviera right now, I’d have a hard time passing up the Watts/Schreiber/Hendricks package.  Hit the jump for more on Wepner.

**Drew Barrymore To Direct Omnibus Romantic Comedy How To Be Single **Christina Hendricks To Play Brendan Fraser's Wife In Seconds of Pleasure **Josh Hutcherson Wants Role in 'The 'Hunger Games'

Drew Barrymore To Direct Omnibus Romantic Comedy How To Be Single
published: 2011-03-15 22:00:21 Author: Eric Eisenberg
In 2009, after years f making sub-par romantic comedies, Drew Barrymore surprised a lot of people when she jumped behind the camera and directed Whip It, a solid coming of age story set in the world of roller derby. Sadly her sophomore efforts sounds as though it will be a step back.

Described as being in the vein of He's Just Not That Into You and Valentines Day (uh oh), How To Be Single will be an omnibus comedy that examines the relationships and breakups of a group of New Yorkers over the span of 10 years. According to THR, The film will be based on the novel by Liz Tuccillo and is being adapted by Marc Silverstein and Abby Kohn, both of whom worked on the two aforementioned films. The article doesn't mention if Barrymore plans to star (though she is also producing).

Haven't we gotten enough mileage out of this dumb sub-genre yet? It was cute when Love, Actually did it, but these films all have the same archetypal characters and storylines; this one just has the dumb catch of spreading it out over 10 years. Whip It proved that Barrymore can be a competent director - it's a shame that she'll be wasting that potential.

Christina Hendricks To Play Brendan Fraser's Wife In Seconds of Pleasure published: 2011-03-15 17:22:02
Author: Eric Eisenberg

It's amazing what being a part of a massively successful television show can do for your career as an actor. For years Christina Hendricks' filmography was largely filled with guest spots on television shows from ER to Tru Calling. But with the incredible popularity of Mad Men and her ability to look jaw-droppingly beautiful in 1960s garb, she's getting her fair share of film parts. Starring in Tony Kaye's Detatchment and Nicholas Winding Refn's Drive later this year and recently signed on to I Don't Know How She Does It, Hendricks has done an excellent job of filling her schedule while her series is on hiatus, and now she's adding another.

Deadline is reporting that the actress has signed on for Seconds of Pleasure set to be directed by Mike Figgis and based on a script by Neil LaBute. An omnibus structure, the film is made up of a series of vignettes connecting the lives of passengers on a plane. Hendricks will play the wife of a character played by Brendan Fraser who catches him "in a compromising position." The rest of the cast is rounded out by Julia Stiles, Matt Dillon and Kristen Scott Thomas.

Considering my not-so-secret crush on Christina Hendricks, I will say that I'm happy to see her get more work, but not too thrilled that she's being paired up with Brendan Fraser. After all, that's the dude who's doing the fish heist movie.

Josh Hutcherson Wants Role in 'The 'Hunger Games'
.By Jacob Hall (Subscribe to Jacob Hall's posts)
Posted Mar 15th 2011 10:10AM
You can file this one under "slow news day."

The long and short of it is that rising young star Josh Hutcherson (if you want to feel old today, know that he was born in 1992) has been taking meetings with filmmaker Gary Ross regarding a role in the upcoming film adaptation of the immensely popular young adult novel, 'The Hunger Games'. He's probably on a list with a dozen other names, but the fact that he's letting us all know that he's in the running (and that he very much wants the part) allows us to make this news.

The role in question is presumably that of Peeta, the teenage boy who accompanies Katniss (a role that will supposedly be filled by Academy Award nominee Jennifer Lawrence) to the Hunger Games, a gladiatorial battle to the death fought by the children of a post-apocalyptic America. From an outside perspective (um, certain writers here at Cinematical haven't read it yet), it sounds like 'The Running Man' meets '1984' but for, you know, kids.

The news comes from Entertainment Weekly, who spoke to Hutcherson at SXSW, where his latest film 'Detention' made its world premiere this week. You can watch the trailer after the jump.

Mike Figgis to Direct SECONDS OF HAPPINESS; Christina Hendricks, Julia Stiles, and Matt Dillon Join Cast
by Matt Goldberg Posted: March 15th, 2011
Director Mike Figgis (Leaving Las Vegas) has stepped in to replace Neil LaBute in an adaptation of LaBute’s collection of short stories, Seconds of Happiness. The frame of the narrative takes place on an airplane and examines the interconnecting lives of various passengers through vignettes. Clearly, this will be just like Lost. Deadline also reports that Brendan Fraser and Kristen Scott Thomas will be joined by Christina Hendricks, Julia Stiles, and Matt Dillon. Hendricks will play a woman who catches her husband (Fraser) in a “compromising position.” Because I’ve never read LaBute’s book but have seen every episode of Lost, I imagine Fraser’s position has something to do with pushing a button every 108 minutes. LaBute is still on board to produce and shooting is expected to begin this summer.

Hendricks recently signed on to star in the ensemble comedy I Don’t Know How She Does It while Dillon is attached to co-star in Roman Polanski’s God of Carnage and Matthew Weiner’s You Are Here. Stiles recently co-starred on Showtime’s Dexter. Hit the jump for the synopsis of Seconds of Pleasure.

SILENT HILL Stars Radha Mitchell, Sean Bean and Deborah Kara Unger Return for SILENT HILL: REVELATION 3D; New Image Released
by Dave Trumbore Posted: March 15th, 2011
Five years ago, the original adaptation of the atmospheric, survival-horror videogame Silent Hill hit theaters with less than blockbusting results. However, since people tend to love multiple sequels to these games-turned-movies (see the Resident Evil series), it’s no surprise that Silent Hill: Revelation 3D has already started filming. Alongside up-and-comers Adelaide Clemens and Kit Harington, the sequel will see the return of Radha Mitchell, Sean Bean and Deborah Kara Unger, all of whom played characters who managed to survive to the end of Silent Hill. Here’s the synopsis:

For years, Heather Mason (Clemens) and her father have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand. Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by terrifying nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever.

Netflix Negotiating Deal to Distribute HOUSE OF CARDS Starring Kevin Spacey; David Fincher to Direct Pilot
by Jason Barr Posted: March 15th, 2011
In what could go down as a watershed moment in the history of television distribution, Netflix is in ongoing negotiations to distribute Media Rights Capital’s drama series House of Cards. Starring Kevin Spacey (who also acts as an executive producer), the series’ pilot will be directed by David Fincher (The Social Network) who is an exec. producer on the show as well. Per Deadline, Netflix outbid other potential suitors such as HBO and AMC by offering the series an unheard of two season (26 episode) commitment.

As that report points out, when taking into consideration House of Cards‘ hefty per episode budget of $4-$6 million as well as the marketing efforts involved in launching a series of its magnitude, Netflix is believed to have committed over $100 million to what would it be its first delve into the original programming market. For more on the deal and the series itself, hit the jump.
