**Michelle William's "Meek's Cutoff" Trailer **Joel McHale Joins Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis in Seth MacFarlane’s TED **New Trailer for MIRAL Starring Freida Pinto **New Posters Released for SUPER Starring Rainn Wilson and Ellen Page, and Disney’s WINNIE THE POOH

Joel McHale Joins Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis in Seth MacFarlane’s TED

by Matt Goldberg    Posted: February 25th, 2011

Joel McHale is in final negotiations to join the cast of Seth MacFarlane’s upcoming comedy Ted.  The story centers on a man (Mark Wahlberg) who’s life is complicated when his childhood wish for his teddy bear, Ted (voiced and played by MacFarlane via motion capture), comes to life.  Kunis will play the girlfriend of Wahlberg’s character who wants marriage, but only if her boyfriend gets a handle on his relationship with his pot-smoking, foul-mouthed, now-alive teddy bear.  Deadline reports that “McHale will play Rex, the sleazy boss who is perpetually putting the moves on Kunis’ character.”
In addition to starring on NBC’s Community (the best comedy on TV that you’re not watching) and hosting E!’s The Soup, McHale has three films set to come out this year: Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World (August 19th), the Anna Faris comedy What’s Your Number (September 30th), and The Big Year co-starring Steve Martin, Jack Black, and Owen Wilson (October 14th).  He’s also hosting the Independent Spirit Awards, which air tomorrow night at 10pm on IFC.

New Trailer for MIRAL Starring Freida Pinto

by Matt Goldberg    Posted: February 25th, 2011

The Weinstein Company have release a new trailer for Miral, the new film from The Diving Bell and the Butterfly director Julian Schnabel.  A French trailer for the film went online last summer, but I had trouble gathering what the story was about.  This new trailer does a better job of explaining that Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire) plays a student who gets caught up in the events of the Intifada resistance.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer.  Miral opens March 25th.

New posters have been released for two upcoming films: Super and Winnie the Pooh. Directed by James Gunn (Slither), Super tells the story of an average guy who takes on the persona of “The Crimson Bolt” upon learning that his wife is having an affair. The film stars Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler and Kevin Bacon. IFC is set to release the film on April 1st.
The “bear of little brain” returns to the big screen in Disney’s Winnie the Pooh. Narrated by John Cleese, the 2D “hand-drawn style” animated film follows Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Rabbit, Piglet, Owl, Kanga and Roo on an all-new adventure to help Christopher Robin. Winnie the Pooh is slated for a July 15th release. Hit the jump to check out both posters.

Guy Pearce Was Almost in "Batman Begins"

Posted: February 26th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Fans have been expecting Guy Pearce (Memento) to appear in one of Christopher Nolan's Batman movies, but it has yet to happen. According to the actor, Nolan actually approached him to play a role in "Batman Begins."

"Chris Nolan flew me to London to talk about one of the other roles in ['Batman Begins']," he said. "It was Liam Neeson's role. And there was talk about having the mentor be the same age as Christian Bale, rather than be an older mentor. But maybe they tossed the idea around and other people went, 'No, that's not gonna work.'"

Pearce went on to say that he was also offered the chance to play the lead in the 2003 "Daredevil" movie, which Ben Affleck ended up starring in.

"I was offered the first 'Daredevil,' yeah," he explained, adding that he eventually turned down the role. "It wasn't really my — I mean, I wasn't really sort of — I don't know. Comic-strip stuff isn't really my cup of tea."

Michelle William's "Meek's Cutoff" Trailer

Posted: February 26th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Michelle Williams Meeks Cutoff TrailerToday we have the trailer for "Meek's Cutoff," which is directed by Kelly Reichardt (Wendy and Lucy) and stars Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, Bruce Greenwood and Will Patton. The film is set to get a limited theatrical release on April 8th. Check out the trailer below.

Plot: The year is 1845, the earliest days of the Oregon Trail, and a wagon team of three families has hired the mountain man Stephen Meek to guide them over the Cascade Mountains. Claiming to know a short cut, Meek leads the group on an unmarked path across the high plain desert, only to become lost in the dry rock and sage.

Over the coming days, the emigrants must face the scourges of hunger, thirst and their own lack of faith in each other's instincts for survival. When a Native American wanderer crosses their path, the emigrants are torn between their trust in a guide who has proven himself unreliable and a man who has always been seen as the natural enemy.

**First Trailer for HESHER Starring Devin Brochu, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Natalie Portman, and Rainn Wilson **New Release Dates for HUGO CABRET, DYLAN DOG: DEAD OF NIGHT, and HORRIBLE BOSSES **Robert Downey Jr. Plans to Film Paul Thomas Anderson’s INHERENT VICE This Fall

New Release Dates for HUGO CABRET, DYLAN DOG: DEAD OF NIGHT, and HORRIBLE BOSSES

by Brendan Bettinger    Posted: February 19th, 2011

The Martin Scorsese-directed fantasy adventure Hugo Cabret will arrive sooner than expected.  Deadline reports financier Graham King (of GK Films) believes the five-day Thanksgiving weekend is the optimal time window for the family film.  Sony Pictures could not provide the date, and so let GK Films take Hugo Cabret elsewhere.  Paramount Pictures has an overall deal with Scorsese, a strong relationship with King, and an opening for a Thanksgiving tentpole: the studio agreed to distribute Hugo Cabret on November 23, a busy weekend also occupied by The Muppets, Project X, Rise of the Apes, and Arthur in Christmas.
In other release date news, Box Office Mojo lists the supernatural comic book adaptation Dylan Dog: Dead of Night at April 29 opposite Fast Five, Prom, and Hoodwinked Too!.  The ensemble comedy Horrible Bosses has re-solidified its position in July.  Warner Bros. previously uprooted Bosses from July 29 to a date to be named later — now named July 8, where it faces One for the Money, Zookeeper, and limited release One Day.
The cast and synopsis for all three films are after the break.

First Trailer for HESHER Starring Devin Brochu, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Natalie Portman, and Rainn Wilson

by Brendan Bettinger    Posted: February 19th, 2011

hesher-slice
Hesher first premiered at Sundance 2010 over a year ago, and was quickly picked up by Newmarket Films.  Since then, Joseph-Gordon Levitt upped his star status to Inception level, and Natalie Portman is a newly minted Oscar nominee.  But it’s taken awhile for Hesher, directed by Spencer Susser, to get to the screen.  Perhaps because of the rough subject material: Gordon-Levitt plays an apathetic loner pyromaniac who inserts himself into the life of T.J. (Devin Brochu), a young boy that moved into his grandma’s house with his father (Rainn Wilson) after T.J.’s mother died.  Heavy stuff — not the easiest sell.
However, if this new trailer is any indication, Hesher is at least worth a look as a major showcase for Mr. Gordon-Levitt.  Watch it after the break.

Robert Downey Jr. Plans to Film Paul Thomas Anderson’s INHERENT VICE This Fall

by Brendan Bettinger    Posted: February 19th, 2011

When first announced that Paul Thomas Anderson is planning to adapt the Thomas Pynchon novel Inherent Vice, it was noted that Anderson’s agency hoped to attach another client, Robert Downey Jr., to the project.  Flash forward to last week: Anderson is close to finding financing for Inherent Vice, and Downey is said to be interested in the role.  Risky Business posted a report this weekend that indicateds Downey’s commitment to the film has “recently grown serious,” with plans to shoot Inherent Vice in the fall.
Downey recently wrapped production on Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, with The Avengers up next on his schedule and Iron Man 3 in early 2012.  But his departure from Oz the Great and Powerful left an opening on his post-Avengers calendar.  More after the jump:

LEAP YEAR Writers to Adapt MEN ARE FROM MARS, WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS

by Adam Chitwood    Posted: January 27th, 2011

Summit Entertainment has tapped a couple of writers to adapt John Gray’s 1992 book Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus. Leap Year scribes Harry Elfont and Deborah Kaplan have been set tackle the project. The book is basically a self-help guide for couples that talks about how bridging the gap between differences that exist between the sexes is the key to a happy relationship. Elfont and Kaplan previously directed the uber-90’s films Can’t Hardly Wait and Josie and the Pussycats. Deadline reports that the two will turn the project into a romantic comedy (obviously). No word on whether they’ll take on directing duties as well.
