Sam Claflin to Play Prince in SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN
by Matt Goldberg Posted: May 4th, 2011
Rupert Sanders’ Snow White and the Huntsman can’t seem to find a huntsman, but they’ve now landed on a prince. Deadline reports that rising star Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) will play the prince in the re-imagining of the fairy tale which stars Kristen Stewart as Snow White and Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen. The story centers on Snow White escaping from the Evil Queen and learning to fend for herself from the Huntsman. On Monday, we reported that Chris Hemsworth (Thor) was the frontrunner to play the huntsman but casting leads on that role seem to change from day to day. If Hemsworth were cast, it would probably change the Snow White-Huntsman relationship from protege-mentor to a love story. Claflin will star alongside Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore in The Seventh Son before moving on to shoot Huntsman in the fall. Snow White and the Huntsman is set to open on December 21, 2012. ....... http://collider.com/snow-white-and-the-huntsman-sam-claflin/88963/
First Clip from Terrence Malick’s THE TREE OF LIFE
by Phil Brown Posted: May 4th, 2011
Art house fans can officially prepare to swoon because the first clip from Terrence Malick’s highly anticipated and endlessly delayed The Tree Of Life has hit the internettoday. The film is set to premiere at this years Cannes Film Festival and open in the US a few short weeks later, but other than that precious little is known. It’s a project that Malick has been nursing since the 70s and editing for almost two years now. All that’s been revealed about the plot is that the film will star Sean Penn as a man struggling to come to terms with the meaning of life and the complicated relationship he had with his father during a time of lost innocence he experienced in the 50s. Oh yeah, all this will supposedly be intertwined with scenes depicting the formation of the earth and the universe (including dinosaurs) that Malick has spent years designing with special effects guru Douglas Trumbull (2001: A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner). The film stars Penn, Brad Pitt, and Jessica Chastain and will be released on May 27th. Hit the jump to see the clip. ...... http://collider.com/tree-of-life-movie-clip/88976/
Bradley Cooper in Talks to Play Lucifer in PARADISE LOST
by Adam Chitwood Posted: May 4th, 2011
Bradley Cooper’s upcoming slate is looking quite full. The actor just recently entered negotiations to star in The Crow remake, and now he’s in talks to star as Lucifer in director Alex Proyas’ (Knowing) adaptation of Paradise Lost. The film has been in development for quite some time, with Proyas signing on last September. The 17th-century epic poem is about the Satan’s temptation of Adam and Eve and the pair’s eventual expulsion from the Garden of Eden, with an epic war between archangels Lucifer and Michael taking place in heaven. Variety reports that Proyas’ adaptation “will be crafted as an action vehicle that will include aerial warfare, possibly shot in 3D,” which is exactly what John Milton had in mind when writing the epic poem. While no official offer has been made, Cooper is apparently “eager” to take the role. Funnily enough, Proyas directed the original 1994 version of The Crow, so maybe they’ve bonded over their mutual admiration for eye makeup? The script for Paradise Lost has been tackled by no less than five writers, with Ryan Condal turning in the latest draft. Hit the jump for a synopsis of Milton’s poem. .... http://collider.com/bradley-cooper-paradise-lost/89002/

Mila Kunis dashes out of her car while filming her latest comedy Ted on Tuesday (May 3) in Boston, Massachusetts.
While at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner, the 27-year-old actress expressed how badly she wanted to meet President Barack Obama. “You tell Reggie, his right-hand man, to hook that s*** up!” she told NY Magazine, referring to Reggie Love, Obama’s personal aide. “I don’t know Reggie, but I would recognize him and I would definitely flirt with him if it helps me meet the president,” she said.
Sean Anders and John Morris (Hot Tub Time Machine) are set to direct the comedy from a script by David Case, which subsequently got a rewrite by Ken Marino and David Wain (Role Models). .......more; http://collider.com/james-caan-i-hate-you-dad/83495/
Sam Claflin and Alicia Vikander in Talks for THE SEVENTH SON by Brendan Bettinger Posted: March 31st, 2011 Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures reportedly offered Alex Pettyfer and Jennifer Lawrence the parts of Tom and Alice in The Seventh Son — the upcoming adaptation of the first book in the Last Apprentice series — but they passed on the roles. Since then, the studios cast out a wide net: Sam Claflin, Caleb Landry-Jones, James Frecheville for Tom; Alicia Vikander, Imogen Poots, Felicity Jones, Gabrielle Wild, and Dianna Agron for Alice. Variety reports that Claflin and Vikander have emerged from the young Hollywood scuffle to enter negotiations to star. Claflin is poised for a breakout as the effective Orlando Bloom replacement in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Vikander is a Swedish actress seeking her first credit in Hollywood — WB and Legendary considered her earlier in the year for a role in the sequel to Clash of the Titans.
From a creative standpoint, Vikander may have lucked out. Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, and their ten combined Oscar nominations are in talks to play the Spook and Mother Malkin, respectively, for director Sergey Bodrov (Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan). Joseph Delaney’s young adult novels center on “a 13-year-old who’s the seventh son of a seventh son and learns about wizardry from a forbidding spook.” Read the synopsis for Revenge of the Witch, the first in the series, after the break. ......... http://collider.com/sam-claflin-alicia-vikander-the-seventh-son/83490/
James Marsden is Charles Manson in "The Dead Circus" Posted: March 31st, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Palermo Pictures is aiming to begin filming "The Dead Circus" this summer and is currently speaking to James Marsden (X-Men), Michael C Hall ("Dexter") and Melissa Leo (The Fighter) to star.
The film is a fictitious story about the actual mysterious death of "I Fought the Law" singer Bobby Fuller. His song became a hit in 1966, but a week after, the 23-year-old singer was found dead. The death was ruled a suicide even though his body was battered, with gasoline poured down his throat.
In the drama, a grieving screenwriter (still to be cast) plunges into a crusade to solve the mystery of Fuller's death. Leo will play a Manson Family matriarch who comes out of hiding five years after the murder to reveal to the writer that the answer to his questions might be found in 16 mm snuff films buried in Death Valley. Marsden will play Charles Manson. Hall will play a corrupt, wheelchair-bound manager of the dead musician.
