Red-Band “Awards Season” Trailer for DRIVE ANGRY 3D
by Matt Goldberg Posted: February 3rd, 2011
Until the Academy loosens up about bullets, boobs, and inexplicable Nicolas Cage hairpieces, we can only dream of a fantastical world where Drive Angry 3D has a shot at Best Picture nomination. Still, the marketing folks behind the movie decided to have a little laugh and give the movie a red-band trailer with all of the prestige of an Oscar film and none of the dignity.
Hit the jump to check out the NSFW red-band trailer. Drive Angry 3D also stars Amber Heard and William Fichtner. The film opens February 25th.

Two Exclusive Images from TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT
by Matt Goldberg Posted: February 3rd, 2011
We’ve been sent two exclusive stills from the upcoming 80s flick Take Me Home Tonight. The film stars Topher Grace, Anna Faris, Teresa Palmer, Dan Fogler, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Chris Pratt. I’m a big fan of this cast, especially Pratt whose lovable performance as dimwit Andy Dwyer is one of the many reasons you should be watching Parks and Recreation.
Hit the jump to check out the images along with a synopsis of the film. Take Me Home Tonight opens March 4th. You can watch the trailer here.

Naomi Watts in Talks to Star in Werner Herzog’s QUEEN OF THE DESERT
by Matt Goldberg Posted: February 3rd, 2011
Naomi Watts is in “serious discussions” with director Werner Herzog to star in his upcoming film Queen of the Desert. According to Vulture, the story is based on the life of British woman Gertrude Bell, “who was alternately a traveler, writer, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer, and political attaché for the British Empire at the dawn of the twentieth century. While only a commoner herself, Bell was nonetheless a kingmaker, helping found the modern states of Iraq and Jordan and installing their first rulers, King Abdullah and King Faisal.”
Watts is currently filming The Impossible with Ewan McGregor, which follows a family in Thailand during the 2004 tsunami. After that, she’s moving on to costar in Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar. Vulture reports that once she wraps on that film, she’ll take a short break and likely move on to Queen of the Desert.
