First Trailer and Poster for GOOD NEIGHBORS Starring Jay Baruchel, Emily Hampshire, and Scott Speedman

Magnolia has released the first trailer and poster for Good Neighbors, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival late last year. Jay Baruchel, Emily Hampshire, and Scott Speedman star as three tenants in the same building. The exact nature of the story is hard to pin down based on the trailer, except that the plot is driven by the secrets and fear of our main characters. This is the second time writer/director Jacob Tierney has worked with Baruchel following The Trotsky, and he appears to have a knack for harnessing Baruchel’s innate weirdness for the purposes of evil.

I feel like I am doing a terrible job at selling this. In my defense, the official TIFF description warns, “Good Neighbors may sound like a thriller, but its relationship to the genre is quite complicated.” So I’ll be more direct: the trailer is worth your time. Watch it after the jump.

Heather Graham, Dev Patel and Lili Taylor in Talks to Join James Franco in CHERRY
by Adam Chitwood Posted: May 18th, 2011 at 6:07 pm

A trio of actors are currently in negotiations to star alongside James Franco in the Stephen Elliott-directed Cherry. Variety reports that Heather Graham, Dev Patel and Lili Taylor are in talks to star in the film, which pits Franco as a cocaine-addicted lawyer. The story revolves around an 18-year-old girl who moves to San Francisco and joins the porn industry. She becomes involved with Franco’s character.

Returning to familiar territory, Graham is eyeing the role of a former porn star turned director who takes an interest in the young girl. Patel would play the girl’s best friend who just happens to also be in love with her, while Taylor will play the girl’s alcoholic mother. Elliot and Lorelei Lee co-wrote the script. Production is set to begin next month in San Francisco, after Franco wraps The Stare with Winona Ryder. He’ll begin shooting Sam Raimi’s Oz the Great and Powerful this August, bringing his grand total of movies filmed in 2011 to about 37.

Trailer for I MELT WITH YOU Starring Thomas Jane, Rob Lowe and Jeremy Piven

After those extremely creepy teasers that were released for Mark Pellington’s (The Mothman Prophecies) polarizingly dark drama I Melt With You, I really wasn’t sure what to expect from the actual film. Well, now the trailer for the flick has been released, and it’s equally creepy. It appears to be a very twisted version of The Big Chill, with Thomas Jane, Rob Lowe and Jeremy Piven starring as three friends who share a vital secret. They go away together and apparently go insane. Magnolia acquired the film at Sundance and is set to release it sometime this year. Hit the jump to check out the trailer for I Melt With You.

Mark Ruffalo Covers 'Details' May 2011

Mark Ruffalo Covers 'Details' May 2011
Mark Ruffalo wears a Burberry Brit shirt on the cover of Details magazine’s May 2011 issue.
Here is what the 43-year-old actor had to share with the mag:
On temporarily quitting acting in 2009: “I’d had it with L.A., and I really had it with the business side of acting, the machinery of it all. You’re an artist, but then all of a sudden you’re a product at the same time, and there’s this company that’s sprung up around you. I got depressed. I was losing my love for it. So I said, ‘I’m done.’ I fired everybody and moved my family out here (Callicoon, NY). I had to make a radical move. The Kids Are Alright was my swan song. I didn’t know what I was doing next.”
On acting in The Avengers, a computer-generated style movie: “It’s the absolute perfect marriage because it relies on your imagination, your ability to project outside of yourself, to be the watcher and the watched. A stage actor has to be able to do that, because you’re telling the story with your body as much as your face and voice.”
On not training to be The Incredible Hulk: “No, no, no. Look, I’m eating guacamole and potato chips….You think Tom Cruise does this?”

**Lili Taylor and Dale Dickey Join Paul Weitz’ Untitled Adaptation of ANOTHER BULLSHIT NIGHT IN SUCK CITY **Emily Wickersham, Wes Bentley, and Jennifer Carpenter Join Amanda Seyfried in GONE **"Tomb Raider" Reboot Coming in 2013 **Guillermo Del Toro May Leave "At the Mountains of Madness" for "Pacific Rim"

Lili Taylor and Dale Dickey Join Paul Weitz’ Untitled Adaptation of ANOTHER BULLSHIT NIGHT IN SUCK CITY
by Matt Goldberg Posted:March 8th, 2011
Production has begun on Paul Weitz’ adaptation of Nick Flynn’s 2004 memoir Another Bullshit Night in Suck City. Obviously, the film won’t be called that so the challenge is to find a title that is somehow more bland than Weitz’ 2004 film, In Good Company. The plot Another Bullshit Night centers on a writer (played by Paul Dano) who takes a job at homeless shelter and runs into his long-absent father (Robert De Niro) who is seeking a bed. Olivia Thirlby will play a worker at the shelter while Moore will play the mother of Dano’s character.

In addition to clarifying Moore’s role, the press release from Focus Features also announces that Lili Taylor (Six Feet Under) and Dale Dickey (Winter’s Bone) have joined the cast, but doesn’t specify which roles they’ll play. Hit the jump for the full press release. I want to have hope for this film, but Weitz has done his best to extinguish that hope by making American Dreamz, Cirque du Freak, and Little Fockers.

Emily Wickersham, Wes Bentley, and Jennifer Carpenter Join Amanda Seyfried in GONE
by Brendan Bettinger Posted: March 8th, 2011
Emily Wickersham (I Am Number Four), Wes Bentley (Jonah Hex), and Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter) have joined the cast of Gone, a thriller headlined by Amanda Seyfried. The script by Allison Burnett (Fame) centers on “a kidnap survivor (Seyfried) who attempts to find the same killer whom she believes has abducted her sister.” The ideal: Gone does for Seyfried what Taken did for Liam Neeson.

Brazilian filmmaker Heitor Dhalia (Adrift) will direct; Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi (Gamer) of Lakeshore Entertainment will produce Gone with Sidney Kimmel (Adventureland), Chris Salvaterra (The Visitor), and Dan Abrams of Sidney Kimmel Entertainment. According to Variety, filming is scheduled to begin in April.

"Tomb Raider" Reboot Coming in 2013
Posted: March 8th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Producer Graham King (The Town, The Departed) and his GK Films has acquired the feature film rights to "Tomb Raider" with plans of rebooting the franchise and releasing the first movie in theaters by 2013.

King recently produced "The Tourist," which starred Angelina Jolie. Many are wondering if Jolie may return to star as Lara Croft, but sources say that King is interested in telling Lara Croft's origin story rather than continue where the last installment left off.

A writer has yet to be hired.

"Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" hit theaters back in 2001 and grossed $274 million worldwide on a $115 million budget. The sequel was released two years later and grossed $156 million on a $95 million budget.

Guillermo Del Toro May Leave "At the Mountains of Madness" for "Pacific Rim"
Posted: March 8th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Guillermo Del Toro quit "The Hobbit" after he realized that it will take a while to begin filming. He moved on to "At the Mountains of Madness," which Universal Pictures has been nervous to move forward due to the $150 million budget and the 'R' rating.

Del Toro has warned Universal that if "Mountains" doesn't get greenlit, he will move on. And his project of choice is "Pacific Rim," which Legendary Pictures is treating as a top priority.

The PG-13 movie is written by Travis Beachem (Clash of the Titans) and is set in a future in which malevolent creatures threaten the earth, so the planet must band together and use highly advanced technology to eradicate the growing menace.

We've been hearing that Beachem's script may be reworked to become a reboot of "Godzilla," which Legendary Pictures is also working on. The studio has previously offered Del Toro the chance to direct "Godzilla," so it's very possible that the helmer has finally agreed. But whether it will be "Pacific Rim" or "Godzilla" is yet to be seen.

This doesn't mean that Del Toro has abandoned "At the Mountains of Madness." It's his passion project and he will immediately return as soon as Universal figures out what it wants to do.
