Olivia Wilde Goes Old School Glam For LA Times Magazine

Olivia Wilde Goes Old School Glam For LA Times Magazine
Posted July 1, 2011 3:01 am by Molly Goodson
Olivia Wilde transformed into a blond bombshell for LA Times Magazine. The actress and activist posed in a series of sexy sequins gowns for the shoot, though the accompanying interview focuses largely on Olivia's work in Haiti. These days it seems like Olivia's name is in the news being linked to every single man in Hollywood, with the most recent being Ryan Reynolds, but she also has two movies coming out this Summer. Olivia Wildecostars with Ryan Reynolds in The Change-Up and she'll also appear in Cowboys and Aliens, and her director in that film, John Favreau, gushed about her for the article. Here are highlights from Olivia's interview, which is out in full this weekend:
- On balancing work in Haiti and acting: "I was crouched outside this cholera clinic, sitting on a cinder block with my phone [about] to help hand out rice at a refugee camp and figure out how our students can build more classrooms. It was hard for me to be on the ball during that call, but I had to remember that acting is actually my job. Whenever I want to say, 'F--k Hollywood,' I have to remember that the reason I am even useful in Haiti is because I have a job here."
- On helping with a documentary about Haiti: "I don’t throw my weight around, because I don’t think I have the weight to throw around yet. . . . I meekly and politely ask if I can throw in my two cents, and I have been so lucky that they’ve brought me into the writing process. I’m always wandering around on set going, 'Where are the writers?'"
- Jon Favreau on Olivia: "Someone who’s that attractive and talented and smart? Sky’s the limit for her, because that just doesn’t come around that often." http://www.popsugar.com/Olivia-Wilde-LA-Times-Magazine-Pictures-18095200

Mila Kunis Covers 'L.A. Times' Magazine February 2011
Mila Kunis, in Georges Hobeika, graces the cover of Los Angeles Times magazine for the weekend of February 6.
Here is what the 27-year-old Black Swan actress had to share with the mag:
On working in comedy: “I love doing comedies. They’re just as hard, if not harder, to make work, compared with a drama. You work 17 hours a day, and you have to try to make things different and funny and relatable onscreen all at the same time.”
Friends with Benefits director Will Gluck on Mila: “She’s very smart about her movies. Her notes were very un-actorlike: Will this emotion work here; will this reaction work there—not typical minuscule notes about a line or something.”
On not having any projects lined up right now: “I know people say this all the time, but it’s true: I don’t ever want to work for the sake of working. I was very lucky to have a show for eight years. Now I can sit back and think about what I want.”

***Ryan Gosling Gets Sick of Himself, but We Sure Don't
Tuesday - 3:04PM by Molly Goodson
Ryan Gosling is your mistletoe dream guy, and the charming actor got serious for an interview with the LA Times. He talked about the emotional inspiration for Blue Valentine and why he hasn't been out promoting his other new release, All Good Things. Ryan and Michelle Williams did make the rounds for their release, showing off their amazing chemistry at every stop. Perhaps they'll even walk the Golden Globes red carpet together next month. Blue Valentine is out in NY and LA tomorrow and elsewhere over the next few weeks. Here are highlights:

- On acting and interviews: "I don't really like doing interviews because I don't have any answers about why I act. It's like a compulsion. It's people who eat and eat and eat and they don't know why and they keep getting fatter but they can't stop. It's like that . . . And then you find yourself on a set throwing yourself off a bridge, and you're asking yourself, 'Why am I doing this?' And I don't know."
- On promoting movies: "I try not to make too many movies. I get sick of myself, so I can imagine how everyone else feels. And for the two to come out at the same time, it makes me feel sick."
- On making independent movies: "When I make these movies, I don't think, 'I want to make a little indie movie and I want to stay in the indie world because I think it's cool. I make these movies and think, 'This is the one. This one is going to be "The Blair Witch Project."' I'm sure of it while we're making it. And then it comes out and it does no business. I just have this total fantasy that you can make a movie like 'Blue Valentine' and that it can be as big as 'Avatar.' That's my dream. I don't have kids or something else more important in my life right now so I keep hammering away at it. I haven't done it yet. But I think I'm getting closer."

The 28-year-old Love and Other Drugs actress was styled by Rachel Zoe for the shoot, where she modeled clothing and accessories by Jean Paul Gaultier, Brian Atwood and David Yurman!
Here’s what Anne had to share:
On having great chemistry with Jake Gyllenhaal: “If you don’t have chemistry with Jake Gyllenhaal, then there’s probably something wrong with you, because he is the most insanely charismatic man. All you have to do is listen to him and you’re instantly charmed.”
On a role she’d like to play in the future: “Pretty much all of Ibsen. Most Shakespeare. Most of the roles I’d love to play are in the theater. In terms of my career, I would like to kill an alien at some point. I would like to drive a spaceship and maybe be a spy. I’d like to kick a little a–.”
On something people don’t know about her: “I like to ride horses - it is pure joy. I can’t tolerate spicy food - I have a weak stomach. Oh, I am a terrible driver. Like, absolutely horrible. Like, absolutely horrible. Like, fear the road if I’m on it.”

Sarah Jessica Parker Covers 'Elle' January 2011
The 45-year-old actress and fashionista wore a Halston Heritage dress,, Azzedine Alaia belt, Chopard diamond earrings, and enamel and gold bracelets from Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co. Here’s what SJP had to share:
On aging naturally: “I don’t know what I can do about the aging. Yes, I am aging. Oh my God, I’m aging all the time. It’s like those flowers that wilt in front of you in time-lapse films. But what can I possibly do? Look like a lunatic?”
On meeting the twins after their birth: “[Meeting them] is hard to describe. Everything is suspended. I can’t even tell you what other sounds were in the room. I loved them immediately, but everything—their size, the shape of their heads, the color of their hair, their noses, their eyes—was new to me. They looked surprisingly different from James Wilkie, which I wasn’t expecting.”
On taking her role at Halston very seriously: “I said, ‘Please know this now: I will never do this for a title. I will never dip in and out of this. I’ll do it like everything else I’ve ever done. I’ll be involved down to the splitting of the atom.’”
