Lindsay Lohan Might Not Be in GOTTI: THREE GENERATIONS After All
by Jason Barr Posted: May 12th, 2011 at 3:18 pm

As of now, the confusion regarding Lindsay Lohan’s status in director Barry Levinson’s Gotti: Three Generations is rivaled only by the confusion regarding her life in general. Back when Nick Cassavetes was still directing, Lohan was in talks to play Gotti’s daughter, Victoria. Then, after Cassavetes’ departure, she dropped out of the film for a hot minutes only to rejoin the project as Gotti Jr.’s wife. Flash forward to the present, and TheWrap reports that Lohan is probably on the outs once again. In an exclusive with Levinson, the director states that “She’s possibly not (in the film) because she’s got her issues, and we also got to write the script, and then we’ll see where it is.” Not exactly a ringing endorsement of the oft-publicized actress…
Regardless of Lohan’s inclusion, Gotti: Three Generations will almost definitely star John Travolta as John Gotti Sr. and Al Pacino as crime family underboss Neil Dellacroce. Levinson also confirms that the film will most likely be in front of cameras by the end of the year.

Dakota Fanning and Elizabeth Olsen to Star in VERY GOOD GIRLS Alongside Dustin Hoffman and Sissy Spacek
by Adam Chitwood Posted: May 12th, 2011 at 4:05 pm

Dakota Fanning and Sundance breakout Elizabeth Olsen have joined the cast of Very Good Girls alongside Dustin Hoffman, Sissy Spacek and Peter Sarsgaard. Written and to be directed by Namoi Foner (Running on Empty), the film tells the story of two teenage girls in New York City who decide to lose their virginity the summer after they graduate high school. Things get complicated, however, when they both fall for the same charismatic street artist (I hate it when that happens).
Olsen broke out in a big way at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, thanks in part to her harrowing turn in the drama Martha Marcy May Marlene, the creepy trailer for which was just released last week. Variety reports that production on Very Good Girls starts this September.

Alex Pettyfer Will Play Channing Tatum in MAGIC MIKE
by Jason Barr Posted: May 12th, 2011 at 4:55 pm

A couple of weeks ago, we brought you the news that Steven Soderbergh will be directing Magic Mike, a male stripper film inspired by and starring Channing Tatum. Tonight, Deadline confirms that Alex Pettyfer will be playing the role of Channing Tatum alongside, you guessed it, Channing Tatum. Confused yet? Let’s have a quick review: Channing Tatum has a foray into male stripping around the tender age of 19 (pretty standard stuff, right?). He is now, for all intents and purposes, a movie star. Star presence in hand, Tatum pitches the idea for Magic Mike to director Steven Soderbergh who quickly accepts calling it “…one of the best ideas I’d ever heard for a movie.” Now, Tatum will play the lead role of “Mike” a dance/stripper teacher who shows Pettyfer’s character (Tatum’s 19 year-old-stripping self) the dance/stripping ropes.
Hopefully this helps clear up any confusion surrounding Pettyfer’s turn as Tatum in Magic Mike. Penned by Reid Carolin, the film is described as a “story of friendship set in the world of male strippers.” Apparently it takes place during a “wild summer” and lots of “dancing, partying, and women” are involved. Sounds great to me. By Soderbergh’s own previous admission, Saturday Night Fever will be a heavy influence for Magic Mike. Production details for the project are currently undisclosed.

Ashton Kutcher to Join TWO AND A HALF MEN
by Adam Chitwood Posted: May 12th, 2011 at 6:28 pm

It looks like the casting circus surrounding Two and a Half Men is finally over. Sources have confirmed to THR that Ashton Kutcher is putting the final touches on a deal to join the cast of the sitcom, filling the void left by Charlie Sheen after he decided acting sane was too much to ask of him for over $1 million per episode. The deal comes in the wake of Hugh Grant nearly joining the cast, only to pull out at the last minute over concerns about doing 20+ episodes of a TV series every year. No word on how Kutcher will be incorporated into the show, but one source lied that the storyline is “really funny.” I’m just baffled as to how this show is still a thing.

**First Clip from HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS – PART 2 **Jason Statham in Talks to Star in PARKER for Director Taylor Hackford **HBO Debuts In Production Featurette for Michael Mann’s LUCK Starring Dustin Hoffman **Logan Lerman to Star in Seth Gordon’s Indie Drama THE ONLY LIVING BOY IN NEW YORK

Jason Statham in Talks to Star in PARKER for Director Taylor Hackford
by Phil Brown Posted: April 18th, 2011
Jason Statham, the man with the finest British growl in the business, is in talks to star in the new thriller Parker. Adapted from a popular series of novels by Donald E. Westlake (writing under the pseudonym Richard Stark), the film will cast the Crank star as an honorable thief (would Statham ever play any other kind of thief?). The character has inspired several solid cinematic outings before, so the source material definitely has a successful pedigree. The film will be directed by journeyman filmmaker Taylor Hackford for the production company trifecta of Sierra/Affinity, Incentive Filmed Entertainment and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment.

First Clip from HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS – PART 2
by Matt Goldberg Posted: April 18th, 2011
While the first clip from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 went online last week, it was a low-version quality taped off a TV screen. A better versions ripped from the new Blu-ray of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 has now gone online and it gives us a good look at various snippets of footage from the upcoming grand finale as well as a scene featuring Harry speaking with Mr. Ollivander (John Hurt). For those unfamiliar with the character (or need a brief refresher), Ollivander is the one who sold Harry his wand way back in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and who was kidnapped by Voldemort in Deathly Hallows – Part 1.

Hit the jump to check out the featurette/clip. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 opens in 3D on July 15th. Click here for all of our Harry Potter coverage.

HBO Debuts In Production Featurette for Michael Mann’s LUCK Starring Dustin Hoffman
by Ethan Anderton Posted: April 18th, 2011
The cable network just premiered their brand new spectacular fantasy series Game of Thrones last night (read my review here), but HBO is already giving us a taste of another new series in their future. The network recently premiered a short featurette on the horse racing series Luck starring Dustin Hoffman with a pilot directed by Michael Mann (Collateral). The series takes a provocative look at horse racing including the owners, gamblers, jockeys and diverse gaming industry players.

Once again, with little effort, HBO has me interested in yet another one of their new drama series. And with a cast that also includes Joan Allen, Michael Gambon, Dennis Farina, John Ortiz, Kevin Dunn, Richard Kind, Jason Gedrick, Ritchie Coster, Ian Hart, Tom Payne, Kerry Condon, Gary Stevens, and Nick Nolte, this should be something worth seeing down the road. Check out the featurette after the jump for your first look at Luck.

Logan Lerman to Star in Seth Gordon’s Indie Drama THE ONLY LIVING BOY IN NEW YORK
by Matt Goldberg Posted: April 18th, 2011
Logan Lerman has signed on to star in The Only Living Boy in New York for director Seth Gordon (Four Christmases). According to Deadline, the indie drama (written by The Dilemma screenwriter Allan Loeb) “is a twisted coming of age tale in which a young man (Lerman) learns that his overbearing father is having an affair. The son tries to stop it, only to become involved with the woman as well. With advice from a questionable quirky neighbor, the young man learns about love.” Ugh. Because the premise isn’t quirky faux-drama enough, let’s throw in a quirky neighbor who gives advice.

Lerman will next be seen in the atrocious-looking 3D adaptation of The Three Musketeers. He’s also set to star in an adaptation of The Perks of Being a Wallflower opposite Emma Watson. As for Gordon, his new film Horrible Bosses, opens July 8th.

CELEB LOOKALIKES

Two scruffy heartthrobs with piercing blue eyes? Yes please! Justin Bartha and Tom Everett Scott should definitely play brothers on the big screen.

Spanish actress Elsa Pataky (l.) should really move to '90210' and play Jessica Stroup's long lost evil twin.

Did Dustin Hoffman get 'Lost' in time? Back in 1967, he looked freakishly like 'Lost' star Henry Ian Cusick.

'Psych' star Maggie Lawson and Alicia Silverstone could easily be secret fraternal twins.

What's better than one blonde with a killer smile? Two, of course! '30 Rock' actress Elizabeth Banks may be referred to as comedian Chelsea Handler's twin, but side by side with Rachel McAdams, the similarities are undeniable!

Is this one of the island's unanswered secrets? 'Big Bang' star Johnny Galecki could definitely play 'Lost' producer J.J. Abrams' 'sideways' alter ego.
