Trailer for DOLPHIN TALE Starring Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd, and Harry Connick Jr.
by Jason Barr Posted: April 7th, 2011
A trailer for director Charles Martin Smith’s Dolphin Tale has landed online. Starring Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd, Harry Connick Jr., and Kris Kristofferson, the film tells the story of a dolphin, Winter, who loses most of her tail to a crab trap and is aided in her recovery by the combined efforts of a doctor (Freeman) who builds a prosthetic tail and a family (Judd, Connick, etc.) who perhaps wills her to survive. While unremarkable, the trailer does a nice job of painting the film in the inspirational light it is meant to be cast. Of course, the “from the studio and producers of The Blind Side” reminder doesn’t hurt in aiding that end either.
Dolphin Tale hits 3D theaters this fall on September 23rd. Hit the jump to check out the trailer. Also, in case you missed it, you can check out our set visit preview by clicking here.

Juan Carlos Fresnadillo to Direct THE CROW
by Jason Barr Posted: April 7th, 2011
28 Weeks Later director/co-writer Juan Carlos Fresnadillo has been tapped by Relativity Media to direct a “re-invention” of 1994’s The Crow. Per the release, Fresnadillo is expected to co-write the project’s script with an as-of-yet unnamed scribe. Although casting details announcements are still forthcoming, the release confirms that Fresnadillo’s film will focus on the character Eric Draven and that production is aiming to begin this Fall. In discussing the reboot, producer Edward Pressman says:
“The original Crow was groundbreaking cinema; its gothic visual and musical ideas influenced a generation and cinema itself. With Juan Carlos, we have every confidence that his new Crow will have a similar impact on the contemporary audience.”

by Adam Chitwood Posted: April 7th, 2011
While director Baz Lurhman is busy fine-tuning his adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby for the big screen, it looks like he may have added another star to the cast. Ben Affleck is currently in talks to join Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire in the film. Deadline reports that Affleck is mulling over the role of Tom Buchanan, husband of Daisy who will be played by Mulligan. DiCaprio is set as Gatsby himself and Maguire will take on narrator Nick Carraway.
Affleck isn’t a sure thing, as he’s currently prepping his next directorial outing Argo, about the 1979 hostage crisis in Iran. However, Deadline seems to think that Affleck will find the time in his schedule to fit Gatsby in. The adaptation is set to start shooting in Australia in August. Hit the jump for a recap of what we know about the film so far, as well as my thoughts on Affleck’s casting. ............ http://collider.com/ben-affleck-the-great-gatsby/85006/
Fox Searchlight Launches THE TREE OF LIFE Site with 20 Mini-Clips
by Brendan Bettinger Posted: April 7th, 2011
Fox Searchlight has launched a comprehensive, interactive website for The Tree of Life at the domain twowaysthroughlife. Once you enter, you are greeted by hypnotic music and two options: “the father’s way” or “the mother’s way.” Each path offers ten different clips, none much longer than five seconds and mostly free of dialogue. I still can’t tell you much about the big picture of Terrence Malick’s film, but the site provides more of the ethereal imagery that I’ve been fawning over since the debut of the trailer.
Brad Pitt, Sean Penn, and Jessica Chastain star in this “impressionistic story of a Midwestern family in the 1950s.” Click here to head down the rabbit hole. Read the official synopsis for The Tree of Life after the break. ........... http://collider.com/the-tree-of-life-movie-site/85016/
