Tommy Lee Jones and Joseph Gordon-Levitt Join Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln"
Posted: May 6th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com StaffTommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Hal Holbrook, James Spader, John Hawkes, Tim Blake Nelson, Bruce McGill and Joseph Cross have all been cast in "Lincoln," directed by Steven Spielberg.
The new movie revolves around the 16th president Abraham Lincoln (Daniel Day-Lewis), focusing on the man's rise to politics and his role in the Civil War. Sally Field will play Mary Todd, Lincoln's wife.
Jones will play Thaddeus Stevens, a Republican leader and congressman from Pennsylvania, who was a supporter of abolishing slavery and was critical to writing the legislation that funded the American Civil War.
Gordon-Levitt will take on the role of Robert Todd Lincoln, eldest son of President Lincoln and the only one to live past his teenage years.
"Lincoln" will begin shooting in Virginia this fall and is tentatively set to hit theaters at the end of 2012.

"Tomb Raider" Prequel Hires "Iron Man" Writers
Posted: May 5th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com StaffMark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (Cowboys and Aliens, Iron Man, Children of Men) have been hired to write the script for a new "Tomb Raider" movie. An actress to play the lead has yet to be cast.
The writers said that the plan is to create an "origin story for Lara Croft that solidifies her place alongside Ellen Ripley and Sarah Connor in the pantheon of great female action heroes."
GK Films acquired feature film rights to the classic video game from Square Enix about two months ago, with the goal of rebooting the action-adventure franchise for a planned 2013 release of the first film.

Columbia Pictures has unveiled the trailer for the upcoming "Colombiana" thriller, starring Zoe Saldana, Michael Vartan, and Cliff Curtis. Check it out below.
Plot: A young woman (Saldana) who, after witnessing her parents' murder as a child in Bogota, grows up to be a stone-cold assassin. She works for her uncle as a hitman by day, but her personal time is spent engaging in vigilante murders that she hopes will lead her to her ultimate target: the mobster responsible for her parents' death.
The new movie is directed by Olivier Megaton (Transporter 3) and writen by the "Taken" team. It is scheduled to hit theaters on September 2nd, 2011.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's "Twins" Sequel in the Works
Posted: May 5th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com StaffAfter Arnold Schwarzenegger decided to return to acting, he named several sequels to his own film as projects that he's considering. They included "Terminator," "Predator" and "Running Man."
We already know that the actor has attached himself to "Terminator 5," and now comes word that Universal Pictures has been pushing for a "Twins" sequel. The studio already has an idea for a follow-up and has approached Schwarzenegger, Danny De Vito and director Ivan Reitman.
The original 1988 film revolves around a physically perfect, but innocent, man (Schwarzenegger) who goes in search of his twin brother, a short small-time crook (De Vito). It grossed $216 million on a $15 million budget.

Trailer: Cillian Murphy's "Retreat" Thriller

Plot: Kate (Newton) and Martin (Murphy) escape from personal tragedy to an Island Retreat. Cut off from the outside world, their attempts to recover are shattered when a Man (Bell) is washed ashore, with news of airborne killer disease that is sweeping through Europe.
The new film is directed by Carl Tibbetts and has already been picked up by Sony Pictures for domestic distribution. A release date has yet to be set.
