Check Out The Two New High-Res Scream 4 Stills And A Brand New TV Spot

published: 2011-03-18 14:44:05 Author: Eric Eisenberg
It was only on Wednesday that we received a whole batch of new images from Wes Craven's upcoming horror sequel, Scream 4, but apparently Dimension Films is really excited to promote it. Today not only do we get high res versions of the Wednesday stills, but two new ones and a television spot.

The first new image shows off everyone's favorite Woodsboro police officer, Dewey (David Arquette), holding a gun, but the real attraction here is the bloodspattered, knife-wielding Ghostface. If these past few days have proven anything, it's that Scream 4 won't be lacking in blood.

Check out the TV spot and the full gallery below. For more info on Scream 4, be sure to check out our Blend Film Database.

Billy Bob Thornton in Talks to Return for BAD SANTA 2
by Matt Goldberg Posted: March 18th, 2011
Back in November, Billy Bob Thornton told Steve that people always want to talk to him about how much they love Bad Santa and that there’s been talk of a sequel. Of course, sequel talk is cheap, but then in December we reported that The Weinstein Company was actively developing sequels on Miramax hits Shakespeare in Love, Rounders, and yes, Bad Santa.

Today, Thornton was on a panel at SXSW for his Willie Nelson documentary The King of Luck and said he was in negotiations to reprise his foul-mouthed, safe-cracking department store Santa in Bad Santa 2. The Wrap has now confirmed with the Weinstein Company that Thornton is in talks to star. A spokesman for TWC tells The Wrap, “”We feel that it’s a Christmas perennial for the R-rated crowd. Everyone loves the character and Billy Bob’s excited to be in talks with us.” It’s currently unknown who will write and direct the sequel to the 2003 sleeper hit, but getting Thornton back on board is a great first step.

Tom Arnold Says He and Arnold Schwarzenegger Have Read Script for TRUE LIES 2, Hope to Make Film Soon
by Adam Chitwood Posted: March 18th, 2011
Ever since Arnold Schwarzenegger let it be known that he was ready to jump back into acting, everyone has been waiting to see what the actor will choose for his first film following his tenure as Governor of California. Well, one of the possible projects includes the ever-elusive sequel to James Cameron’s 1994 action-comedy True Lies. Now co-star Tom Arnold says a new script exists for the sequel and he sounds very optimistic:

I have read a great True Lies 2 script, and I hope we are able to do it. Knock on wood. Arnold Schwarzenegger is excited. I am excited….We have both read the script. There is a script that James Cameron and a guy named Jeff Eastin, who created the TV show White Collar, wrote. It is really great. Jim can’t direct it. But he can produce it. We hope it gets done. We have a few fun things we want to do. I am supposed to remain cool about this. For me, it would be a lot of fun to work with the guys again.

Now, this could very well be wishful thinking on Arnold’s part, given that Schwarzenegger has been offered roles in reboots/sequels/remakes of seemingly every film he’s ever made. But I, for one, would love to see the two team-up again. Hit the jump for more.

Jose Padilha Says He’s Closed His Deal to Direct ROBOCOP Remake
by Adam Chitwood Posted: March 18th, 2011
Earlier this month, it was reported that director Jose Padilha (Elite Squad) was in talks to helm MGM’s Robocop remake. Well, now it looks everything came through as Padilha told G1, “It’s closed,” regarding his deal to direct. Last week, Josh Zetumer came aboard to pen the script for the film. While Zetumer currently has no produced screenplays in the can, his spy-thriller script Infiltrator ended up on the “Black List” and is now in development at Warner Bros. with Leonardo DiCaprio tapped to star. In addition, the scribe penned a draft of the ever-changing fourth installment of The Bourne Identity franchise.

The Robocop remake has a bit of a troubled past, as Darren Aronofsky came on board to direct in 2008, but then MGM fell into bankruptcy and Aronofsky left the project. With Zetumer recently being drafted to pen the script, production on this flick is still probably a ways off.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Confirmed for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES; Juno Temple in Talks for a Role
by Dave Trumbore Posted: March 18th, 2011
Rumors abound when it comes to any news surrounding Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. Though we don’t yet know what role he will be playing, we can at long last confirm that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be joining the cast of the final act of Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Gordon-Levitt will reunite with Nolan and Tom Hardy, both of whom he worked with in Inception. It’s also rumored that Inception cast member Marion Cotillard may complete the reunion.

An additional casting mention involves a supporting role for indie upstart, Juno Temple (Cracks). The character description is listed only as “a street-smart Gotham girl.” Hit the jump for a recap on who Gordon-Levitt might be playing and other The Dark Knight Rises coverage.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Officially Joins "The Dark Knight Rises"
Posted: March 19th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

After weeks of negotiations, Joseph Gordon-Levitt has officially signed on for "The Dark Knight Rises," re-teaming with "Inception" director Christopher Nolan.

While his role is being kept a secret, there have been rumors that he may play Robin or Deadshot, who is a member of the villainous League of Shadows. Meanwhile, Juno Temple (Year One) is in talks to also join the cast and is being eyed for a supporting role as a street-smart Gotham girl.

Nolan is planning to get the cameras rolling in May in order to have the film ready for a July 20th, 2012 release. The rest of the cast includes Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway.

One bit of The Dark Knight Rises news you were expecting, and another bit you weren't. Variety is reporting that not only has Joseph Gordon-Levitt closed a deal to take a role in the third Batman film, reuniting him with Inception director Christopher Nolan, but that Juno Temple is being considered for a supporting role as a "street-smart Gotham girl," though no deal has yet been closed.

Gordon-Levitt has been rumored for a role in the film for months now, with the latest speculation that he'd play a member of the League Shadows. Variety floats the likelihood of that role as well, though they also seem to have no idea who he'll actually play. As for Temple, her part is likely not one featured in the comics, though given how crowded the film already is with female villains-- Anne Hathaway and Marion Cotillard are both on board-- there's probably not room for another one anyway. Temple is far less well-known, particularly to Nolan fans, than Gordon-Levitt, though you've probably caught her in supporting roles in Atonement, Year One, Greenberg or Gregg Araki's Kaboom.

We'll be anxiously awaiting official confirmation from Nolan's people, since that might also come with details on who Gordon-Levitt will play. In the meantime share your own speculation in the comments.

Vin Diesel May Star in "The Last Witch Hunter"
Posted: March 19th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

LA Times has learned that "The Crazies" director Breck Eisner is in talks with Summit Entertainment to helm "The Last Witch Hunter," which the studio is hoping to turn into a franchise after "Twilight" ends.

The script, written by Cory Goodman (Apollo 18, Priest), landed on the 2010 edition of the Black List, which is a list of the best unproduced scripts. The story centers on covens of witches who have joined forces, leaving the lead character to fight a force much larger than him to ensure the safety of mankind.

Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) was initially planning to direct the film, but may end up just producing. Meanwhile, Vin Diesel has expressed interest in starring.
