Jeremy Renner, Jennifer Lopez, Wanda Sykes, Aziz Ansari and More Join Voice Cast of ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT

by Adam Chitwood    Posted: April 26th, 2011

Hot off the heels of being named the lead in The Bourne Legacy, Jeremy Renner has been tapped to join the voice cast of Ice Age: Continental Drift alongside fellow additions Jennifer Lopez, Wanda Sykes, Aziz Ansari, Keke Palmer and Drake. Returning for the fourth film in the Ice Age series are franchise staples Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, Seann William Scott and Josh Peck.
THR reports that Renner will portray Gutt, “a self-styled master of the high seas” while Lopez will take on the role of Shira, a sabre tooth and love interest for Leary’s character. Ice Age: Continental Drift is slated for July 13th, 2012, and given the commercial success of the franchise it’s safe to assume that more sequels will follow.

"Cyborg" Remake in the Works

Posted: April 26th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

AICN has learned that "Cyborg" director Albert Pyun is planning to remake his own 1989 movie, which starred Jean-Claude Van Damme as a mercenary tracking a cyborg through a post-apocalyptic America.

Pyun told the site that he's currently in an "acquisition process" with MGM, but already has the financial backing of the same company that funded "Donnie Darko," "Memento" and "Monster."

A script has yet to be finished, but Pyun promises that there will be more "car/vehicle mayhem" with more emphasis on practical effects rather than CGI. At this point, Vince Klyn and Terrie Batson, who played the villain and the love interest in the original 1989 film, are already onboard for the remake. The helmer is hoping to also work out deals with Rutger Hauer and Michael Dudikoff.

"Scream 5" May Not Happen

Posted: April 25th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

When "Scream 4" was announced, the plan was to develop a new trilogy that would remain close to the original three films. The fourth installment recently hit theaters, grossing $18 million. It will definitely make its money back, but Dimension Films were hoping to at least top the opening numbers of the second ($33 million) and third ($35 million) films.

E! Online believes that "Scream 4" failed not because of its quality, but because it's a sequel. "If 'Scream 4' proved anything, it's that horror reboots have a better chance of survival than continuing sagas," said the site. "If there is a 'Scream 5,' expect it to be re-titled 'Scream,' and don't expect David Arquette, Courteney Cox or Neve Campbell to return unless it's in a cameo."

Moviehole reached out to its contact with ties to the studio, who said that "Scream 5" will likely not happen. "The 'Scream' franchise will likely end here, at least for the moment," said the contact, adding that it may have a future as a direct-to-DVD franchise.

Alex Winter Says "Bill and Ted 3" Script is Finished

Posted: April 25th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

Alex Winter Says Bill and Ted 3 Script is Finished
On his Twitter page, "Bill and Ted" star Alex Winter has confirmed that the script for the third movie has been written and is now in his hands. "Just got the script," he wrote. "And now to read..."

About three weeks ago, Keanu Reeves said that the script, written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon (Excellent Adventure, Bogus Journey), is six weeks from completion. So it looks like things are moving forward at a fast pace.

So what's the story about? Reeves explained: "When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn't happened. So they've now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there's an element of time and they have to go back."

Sean Hayes Is Larry in THE THREE STOOGES

by Brendan Bettinger    Posted: April 4th, 2011

To cast the role of Larry in The Three Stooges, the Farrelly brothers cycled through Sean Penn, Paul Giamatti, Andy Samberg, and most recently James Marsden.  In the end, the slapstick-heavy role will go to Emmy winner and wild gesticulator Sean Hayes (Will & Grace).  Hayes is the second official Stooge, following the hiring of Will Sasso ($h*! My Dad Says) to play Curly.  Hank Azaria (Love and Other Drugs) was the latest actor to be mentioned as the frontrunner to portray ringleader Moe, but Variety’s report lists no contenders it mentions that the role is up for grabs.
Hit the jump for more on the format and tone of the Stooges remake.

Kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars, lords, and honest men... all will play the "Game of Thrones."

The new series stars Sean Bean, Peter Dinklage, and Lena Headey.

Check Out Colin Farrell's Awful Combover In First Images From Horrible Bosses

published: 2011-04-04 20:57:35 Author: Katey Rich
At Cinema Con last week Warner Bros. debuted the first trailer for Horrible Bosses, their summer comedy that isn't The Hangover Part II and may turn out to be even funnier; Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day star as three doofuses who scheme together to kill their awful employers, played by Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Aniston and Colin Farrell. The movie looks goofy and energetic and original, with three breakout comic performances in the leads and three familiar actors doing something a little different as the evil bosses. Colin Farrell, in particular, seems to be swinging for the fences by donning a terrible combover wig.

While that trailer hasn't yet shown up online, the first images from the film have popped up in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, as scanned by The Playlist. You can get a glimpse of Farrell's awful wig, plus Aniston putting the moves on Day (he plays her dental assistant) and Spacey laying down the law to Bateman and Day. Farrell's wig, obviously, is the money shot here, so check that one out on top below. Fuller sizes are available at The Playlist, and the movie hits theaters July 8.

Keanu Reeves Divulges A Bit Of Plot From Bill And Ted 3

: 2011-04-04 19:06:32 Author: Eric Eisenberg
We've been hearing for months - if not years - that Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter will reunite for a possible Bill and Ted 3. Back in September Reeves expressed hope for the project and Winter confirmed that the project was in the works, but one major question still loomed: what would the sequel be about? Today we have an idea.

MTV has learned that not only is the first draft of Bill and Ted 3 about two months away, but has also divulged a few details about the story. Speaking with Reeves, who is currently promoting his new film Henry's Crime, the actor said that the movie would spin-off from the way things ended in the first sequel, Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey, when the duo's band, Wyld Stallyns, becomes known as the best in the universe. Said Reeves,

"When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn't happened. So they've now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there's an element of time and they have to go back."
I feel like it should be noted that while Reeves went on to have a massively successful career since the stoner time travel movie came out in the 80s, Winter's work has consisted mostly of bit parts and voice-over work. It will be interesting to see how these two characters have changed in the twenty years since we last saw them. It's just too bad that George Carlin isn't still around to play Rufus.

Bill & Ted 3 to Write the Song That Saves the World!
It's been months since we last heard anything about Bill & Ted 3, though it seems the project is still moving forward. Keanu Reeves recently revealed in an interview that he expects the script to be done in six weeks.

He also revealed that Bill & Ted 3 will tie into the end of Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey, with the guys now in their 40s and still not having written the song that saves the world. Here's what he had to say below.

"I believe the writers are six weeks away from a draft. No pressure, guys! When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn't happened. So they've now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there's an element of time and they have to go back."

Back in September, we reported that Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, the original writers of both Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey, are writing the script.

Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey actually ends with Bill and Ted getting lost on the way to the first-ever gig on Mars. It is not known if that element of being lost in space will play a factor in the storyline at this time.

Bill & Ted 3 is in development and stars Alex Winter, Keanu Reeves.

LUCKY THEM Finds Investor in Boston Red Sox Owner; Marisa Tomei, Thomas Haden Church, and Alec Baldwin Attached to Star

by Jason Barr    Posted: April 4th, 2011

Over the weekend, the late Paul Newman’s final production project, Lucky Them, made an investor out of Boston Red Sox owner John Henry. The indie flick, now being exec. produced by Newman’s widow Joanne Woodward, was written by Huck Botko (The Virginity Hit) and Emily Wachtel. According to Variety, Botko will helm the pic which tells the story of a “rock-music journalist assigned to track down her ex-boyfriend.” Currently, Marisa Tomei, Thomas Haden Church, and Alec Baldwin are attached to the project in unspecified roles. Shooting on Lucky Them is expected to begin later this year.

Keanu Reeves Provides New Details on BILL & TED 3; Expects Script in Six Weeks

bill-and-ted-slice-01
While I’m going to have trouble believing that a third Bill & Ted movie is a reality until cameras actually start rolling on it, Keanu Reeves says that he expects the writers to send him and co-star Alex Winter a draft in about six weeks.  Reeves also told MTV that the film will be based on the events of Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey:
“When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn’t happened.  So they’ve now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there’s an element of time and they have to go back.”
Hit the jump for my thoughts on the potential sequel.
I’m a bit confused by Reeves’ description of the plot.  Are Bill and Ted in their mid-40s and still trying to come up with a hit song?  Isn’t that a little sad?  I think a more interesting story would be to see Bill and Ted as the revered rockers in the “future” and struggling to figure out how to rule.  The first two movies were all about leading the eponymous heroes to their destiny.  I think if they’re planning to do a sequel, an interesting take would be to see Bill and Ted having attained that destiny and moving forward from there.
But I’m on board with a new Bill & Ted movie simply because I think it could be delightfully goofy to see these characters again played by the same actors when it’s been twenty years since the last movie.

First Look at Kevin Spacey and Jennifer Aniston in HORRIBLE BOSSES

by Matt Goldberg    Posted: April 4th, 2011

horrible-bosses-movie-images-slice-01
There are plenty of great-looking hard-R comedies headed our way this summer, but Horrible Bosses has a cast that makes it a serious contender for the best of the bunch.  The film stars Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, and Charile Day as a trio of hapless employees who agree to kill each others’ bosses played by Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell, and Jennifer Aniston, respectively.  As if that cast wasn’t impressive enough, the film also stars Jamie Foxx (playing a character named “Motherfucker Jones”), Donald Sutherland, “Old Spice guy” Isaiah Mustafa, and Julie Bowen.
The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly has some new images from the film and you can check them out after the jump along with a full plot synopsis.  Horrible Bosses is due out July 8thClick here for Steve’s recent interview with Bateman, Day, and Sudeikis.

4 Exclusive Images from Takashi Miike’s 13 ASSASSINS

13-assassins-movie-image-slice-01
We’ve been sent four exclusive images from Takashi Miike’s new film 13 Assassins.  The movie takes place in feudal Japan and centers on a group of assassins who come together to kill an evil lord.  While Miike is (in)famous for his brutal and graphic films like Audition and Ichi the Killer, I’ve spoken to people who have seen 13 Assassins and been told it’s far more accessible and not in the “Would You Like Nightmares Forever?” realm of his more famous films.
Hit the jump to check out the images.  13 Assassins stars Kôji Yakusho, Takayuki Yamada, and Yûsuke Iseya.  The film is currently available via Video-on-Demand.  It opens in theaters in limited release on April 29th. .............. http://collider.com/13-assassins-movie-images/84188/
