New Trailer for THE GREEN HORNET; Tons of New Footage and ‘Kato Vision’

While many people seem to have already made up their mind about Michel Gondry’s The Green Hornet starring Seth Rogen, others are still trying to get a feel for the film. Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) isn’t the obvious choice for directing a film heavy on action and fun, while a slimmed down Rogen is causing people aneurisms as they try to picture him starring in an action film. The Green Hornet also stars Jay Chou as the brawn of the duo, Kato, along with Cameron Diaz, Christoph Waltz, and Michael Pena. Until reviews flood the world ahead of the January 14th 3D release by Sony, most people will judge the film on the trailers and the newest one does a solid job at selling all the nuances and showcases “Kato Vision.” So hit the jump to check out the new trailer with lots of new footage that does not give too much away:

The-Green-Hornet-image-movie-seth-rogenFor those not up to speed on the film, here is the complete synopsis:
“Britt Reid (Seth Rogen), son and heir to Los Angeles’ largest newspaper fortune, is a rich, spoiled playboy who has been happy to maintain a direction-less existence. When his father James Reid (Tom Wilkinson) dies, Britt meets an impressive and resourceful company employee, Kato (Jay Chou). They realize that they have the resources to do something worthwhile with their lives and finally step out of James Reid’s shadow. Kato builds the ultimate weapon, The Black Beauty, an indestructible car with every weapon imaginable and Britt decides that in order to be heroes, they will pose as villains. With the help of Britt’s new secretary, Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz), they learn that the chief criminal in the city is named Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz). He has united all the gangs under his power, and he quickly sees that the Green Hornet is a direct threat to the prosperous criminal underworld he controls.”
Yahoo provides the latest trailer and it isn’t the only good news from The Green Hornet camp. Test screenings went over incredibly well this month according to the LA Times (backed up by what Steve is hearing from someone who sat in the audience), and there is buzz about a potential sequel. I think this is the best trailer yet, and I’m starting to become more than just cautiously optimistic about the film. Let us know what you think in the comments below.

First Clip from THE TOURIST Starring Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp

Not satisfied with utilizing trailers and posters to sell the movie, we now have the first interactions between Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie in Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck’s upcoming thriller The Tourist. The poster we revealed last month clearly showcased Depp and Jolie as the main selling point, and this clip seems to follow right in line with that. Instead of showing an action piece or something involving other characters (Paul Bettany and Timothy Dalton are in the film as well), we get this flirtatious interaction between the main characters. While I’m not completely sold on the film yet, I am intrigued by what is being held back and the fact that Christopher McQuarrie co-wrote the script. The Tourist hits theaters December 10th, and you can hit the jump to check out the clip for the film, complete with synopsis.

Official synopsis:
“Johnny Depp stars as an American tourist whose playful dalliance with a stranger leads to a web of intrigue, romance and danger in The Tourist. During an impromptu trip to Europe to mend a broken heart, Frank (Depp) unexpectedly finds himself in a flirtatious encounter with Elise (Angelina Jolie), an extraordinary woman who deliberately crosses his path. Against the breathtaking backdrop of Paris and Venice, their whirlwind romance quickly evolves as they find themselves unwittingly thrust into a deadly game of cat and mouse.”
The Tourist hits theaters December 10th, 20101. Via MySpace.  If clips aren’t your thing, you can click here for the original trailer, and here for the newest one.
