Chelsea Handler Covers 'The Hollywood Reporter'

Chelsea Handler Covers 'The Hollywood Reporter'
Chelsea Handler takes the cover of The Hollywood Reporter’s latest issue.
Here’s what the 36-year-old talk show host and author had to share:
On being a self-proclaimed control freak: “I have final say in everything I’m a part of, whether it’s Chelsea Lately or my books and my stand-up. That [kind of power] doesn’t happen a lot. And I didn’t know it didn’t happen until it happened to me and I realized I was the only one.”
On her plans for the future: “The next step for me is not The Tonight Show. That’s a job for Jimmy Fallon. I’m way too divisive for a show like that. I want to do something that’s going to utilize my brain a little more than this show. If Lately is the show that I’m going to do, it’s going to change. But it may turn out that I’m done with it altogether. I can’t keep doing the same thing; my brain is bleeding. I want to do something that’s more mindful and isn’t celebrity-centered. I’m not looking to totally bail on E! They’ve done a lot for me, and I like it here. If you take away the Kardashians.”

Beyonce Covers 'Essence' July 2011

Beyonce Covers 'Essence' July 2011
Beyonce looks picture perfect on the cover of Essence’s July issue.
The 29-year-old penned her very first cover story, “Eat, Play, Love,” opening up about how a nine-month break helped inspire her creativity.
Here’s what she shared with the mag: “I had talked about taking a vacation before, but always ended up in the studio after two weeks, so no one believed me. This time, though, I was serious. I was going to give myself a year to do the things I never get to do.”
“Simple things like play with my nephew, pick him up from school, visit museums, go to concerts, see some Broadway shows, learn to cook a meal and spend time with my husband … Yes, I needed some relaxation, but I wanted inspiration too, from regular everyday things,” she added.

Ryan Kwanten Covers 'Da Man' June/July 2011

Ryan Kwanten Covers 'Da Man' June/July 2011
Ryan Kwanten covers Da Man magazine’s June/July 2011 issue.
Here is what the 34-year-old True Blood actor had to share with the mag:
On the recent vampire phenomenon: “It was always a phenomenon that was hard to conceive, because it was never quite in the mainstream. Yet, these are the shows that brought all these fans together from what used to be considered as a cult, more of a minority, out into public view. And it has become pretty much a mainstream force. I think it’s now in the hands of the audience to demand the trend as it goes now, so I’m happy to be a part of a show like True Blood, which constantly lives up to the expectations of the audience.”
On maintaining his six-pack abs: “To be honest, the physical side of things has always been a part of who I am as a person. My dad is a white-collar worker by day, but as soon as he’s home, he’s out surfing and he’s a very physical father, so I sort of very much follow in his footsteps. The physical side of things is always there, it is not something I do out of vanity, but I do it just to maintain my own sanity—to be honest.”
On being considered a sex symbol: “It’s hard to fully accept the title with complete and utter humility. It’s obviously not my goal to have this title, but if someone wants to give it, hey I’m all for it, you know. But, at the end of the day, I’m an actor and if that’s what comes out of it, that’s great; that’s more of a byproduct of something that I’m trying to achieve.”

Emma Roberts Covers 'Seventeen' May 2011
Emma Roberts flashes a smile on the cover of Seventeen’s May issue.
Here’s what the 20-year-old Scream 4 star had to share with the mag:
On turning 20: “[It] made me realize that I want to be young and have fun. When I was 16, I was very frustrated all the time. I felt like nobody understood me. School was stressful, working was stressful, and it’s a really tough time for girls to be friends. I felt like I was always in a rush to get somewhere, when I had no idea where that was. Now I just feel content, and I feel like that’s a nice place to be. I’ve learned that I want to have great people in my life and lots of love in my life, and just enjoy it. I wish I had realized that sooner.”
On if she ever went through a stage where she tried to dress sexy: “Sexy when I was younger always meant boobs, and I’ve never had boobs in my life - so I always felt that sexy was out of the question for me. I used to really want to be that kind of voluptuous girl, and I’ve just kid of embraced that I’m not.”

Mark Wahlberg Covers 'Men's Health' December 2010

Mark Wahlberg Covers 'Men's Health' December 2010
Mark Wahlberg cracks a smile on the cover of Men’s Health magazine’s December 2010 issue.
Here’s what the 39-year-old Golden Globe nominee had to share:
On training while shooting other movies: “It was tough. Going out and making another movie and still continuing to train for something that may not happen is not an easy thing to do. We’re shooting 12 to 14 hours a day on one movie and I’m getting up 2 hours earlier than normal so I can train.”
On his 100% dedication to the role: “To look like Micky Ward inside the ring, outside the ring, and in the gym, I needed to do it right. We hired real boxers and really went in there and hit each other. I was in better shape than the fighters I was shooting with.”
On having HBO help make the film: “My goal was to make it the most realistic boxing in a movie. HBO allowed us to use their cameras and the guys who have shot all the HBO fights. We were able to make the best version of the movie, down and dirty and gritty and real.”
