Gerard Butler: Feeling the 'Afterburn'?
The 41-year-old Scottish stud has been in talks to star in the sci-fi adventure, with Tobey stepping behind the camera to produce, according to Variety.
Synopsis for the film, which will be based on Red 5 Comics’ graphic novels: It’s postapocalyptic Earth whose Eastern Hemisphere was destroyed by a massive solar flare. Treasure hunters aim to extract items such as the Mona Lisa amid competition from rival hunters, mutants, and pirates.
Training Day director Antoine Fuqua is in negotiations to direct the flick.

Carey Mulligan: Chanel Chic at CFDA/Vogue Awards
Carey Mulligan goes glam in Chanel at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards on Monday (November 15) at NYC’s Skylight Soho.
The 25-year-old British actress wore a sequined embroidered dress from the French fashion label’s Fall/Winter Haute Couture Collection.
While Carey was attending the event, she learned she would be playing Daisy Buchanan in the upcoming Great Gatsby film!
Director Baz Luhrmann called her cell phone to give her the good news himself, prompting her to burst into tears in front of designer Karl Lagerfeld and Vogue’s Editor in Chief Anna Wintour.

Blake Lively: Sheer Genius at CFDA/Vogue Awards
Blake Lively hits up the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards on Monday (November 15) at NYC’s Skylight Soho.
The 23-year-old Gossip Girl actress wore a black embroidered top and dress from the Chanel 2011 Spring/Summer Ready to Wear Collection.
Chanel’s head designer Karl Lagerfeld, who attended the Heritage Luxury Conference with Victoria Beckham last week in London, also came out to the event.
A sneak peek of Blake in the Green Lantern was released over the weekend, but an extended preview will air on Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday night!

Carey Mulligan: Daisy Buchanan in 'The Great Gatsby'!
Carey Mulligan has landed one of Hollywood’s most coveted roles — playing Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby!
The 25-year-old British actress burst into tears when she got the message from director Baz Luhrmann while she was at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards.
“I was thrilled to pick up the phone an hour ago to the young Oscar-nominated British actress Carey Mulligan and say to her: “Hello, Daisy Buchanan,” Baz told Deadline.
Rounding out the main cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, who will play Jay Gatsby and Tobey Maguire, who’s expected to play his friend Nick Carraway.

Reese Witherspoon: 'How Do You Know' to Be Recut
Reese Witherspoon bundles up in a puffy coat as she goes for a walk with her bodyguard on Wednesday (November 10) in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
The 34-year-old actress learned last week that her latest film, How Do You Know, will be recut to avoid an R rating after the studio’s appeal was upheld.
The James L. Brooks directed film, in theaters on December 17, was given the restricted rating because of three instances of the f-word, according to Variety. Typically, PG-13 films may only use the word once.
