Henry Cavill is SUPERMAN!
by Brendan Bettinger Posted: January 30th, 2011
After months of speculation, Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have announced that Henry Cavill will play Clark Kent/Superman in the upcoming Superman film directed by Zack Snyder. Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Deborah Snyder are the producers of the film. The screenplay is being written by David S. Goyer based on a story by Goyer and Nolan. The untitled Superman film is scheduled for a December 2012 release. Here’s what Snyder said about Cavill:
“In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen. I also join Warner Bros., Legendary and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield.”

Javier Bardem Offered Big Role in BOND 23
by Adam Chitwood Posted: January 30th, 2011
It’s turning out to be a not-so-quiet Sunday. Earlier today, the new Superman was announced, and now it seems that Javier Bardem may be taking on a major role in the next James Bond film. Apparently, Bardem has been offered a starring role in the back-on-track Bond 23 (tentative title, of course). Given that the other lead male role in most Bond films other than Bond himself is a villain, one would assume that Bardem would be portraying a baddie. However, Deadline’s report on the matter has no confirmation on the role he’s been offered at this time, as plot details are being kept under wraps. Just recently, MGM finally got their financing troubles together, putting both The Hobbit and Bond 23 back in commission. Hit the jump for more on Bardem in Bond.

Holliday Grainger Interview THE BORGIAS; Updates on BEL AMI and JANE EYRE
by Christina Radish Posted: January 30th, 2011
The new original Showtime drama series The Borgias, created and executive produced by Oscar-winning director Neil Jordan, is a complex portrait of one of history’s most intriguing and infamous dynastic families. Premiering on April 3, the series begins as the cunning and manipulative Rodrigo Borgia (Jeremy Irons) schemes his way into the position of Pope, causing him, his two Machiavellian sons Cesare (François Arnaud) and Juan (David Oakes), and his scandalously beautiful daughter Lucrezia (Holliday Grainger), to become the most powerful and influential family of the Italian Renaissance.
During a recent interview to promote the upcoming television series, British actress Holliday Grainger talked about taking on a role as complex as Lucrezia Borgia, working with acclaimed filmmaker Neil Jordan, acting opposite Jeremy Irons, and the lavish costumes that she got to wear. She also talked about her upcoming roles in the feature films Jane Eyre (opening March 11) and Bel Ami, working opposite Robert Pattinson, and her hopes of doing more work in the States. Check out what she had to say after the jump:
